It is recommended not to attempt a faster route until your time is close to the benchmark time for the current strats you are using. If you are using faster strats and your time is still slower than the benchmark for a route with worse strats, it is recommended that you simplify your route.

1)When the level begins, rotate the camera so that it looks behind you or to your right, staring straight ahead causes lag. 2)Run towards the bridge while barking. 3)Go ~80% across the bridge, then turn back and head toward the sheep by the two trees in the corner. This causes the sheep on the center island to run toward the pen. 4)Herd the sheep to the top of the hill by the sheep pen. 5)Turn and head to the water to herd the last sheep up the hill. 6)Herd all 4 sheep into the pen and hit the switch. Herding is easier if you stay farther away from the sheep. 7)Head across the bridges and toward the mouse (see Bridge Skip¹ ). When you get to the mouse, make sure the dog is out of the way before you switch animals (this makes mouse movement easier and makes getting the cutsene skip easier). 8)Get to the teleporter as fast as possible. Ideally you will get to the teleporter before the cutscene starts.

Techniques

¹Bridge skip (-2s): Rather than going over the first bridge on your way to the mouse, you can run in a straight line from the sheep pen to the island. To jump the gap over the water, pause briefly near the water, then hold forward and jump at the same time. This trick can be difficult and doesn't really save that much time, so if you can't do it consistently, its not a big deal.
