After recent discussions among the runners some rules have been updated. I will be outlining them below as well as some other news:

  • Starting time was updated from Console On to pressing NEW GAME, or pressing B to begin a new game on the Load Save screen. It's recommended to time the beginning of the run according to the audio cue that follows.
  • Ending time was updated to Screen fading to Black after the credits. Some runs still used the previous time of waiting for the statue to turn still. Ends that don't include the segment of the screen turning back because the video cuts early will keep the old timing. Every run from now on needs to include the correct timing to be accepted
  • A variable for SFC runs using Manip and No Manip was added. This increases transparency for runners who aren't familiar with manipulation.
  • Explanations of which glitches are allowed and which aren't allowed for the No Major Glitches category were added. Before there was no mention that minor glitches, such as the Elevator Glitch in version 1.0 or the unavoidable Nadja Glitch, were allowed.

As of now, runs have been re-timed to follow these new rules.

Categories for the PS1 and GBA versions were added. A link to the megatenspeedruns website was also added.
