[Unverified] [ENG/PL] Version Differences

ENG: Let's be clear for certain versions, if you notice the Russian Voices file in Resources it means that the Russian version is faster but for some categories not always, in this guide a document is provided for the different versions, Russian is faster for Glitchless and Glitchless Legacy because the cutscene before the fight with the PUSS is 11 seconds shorter than English and 9 seconds shorter than Spanish, for Any% there is a suspicion that French is faster in this category because the cutscene with nailing yourself to the castle is 1 second shorter, Also relevant for Prison (Shrek) where the opening cut-scene is 200 milliseconds faster than Russian but this also requires a Clip through the wall, for 100% so far Polish seems to be faster because the Narrator talks shorter than on Russian but this also requires a Clip through the wall but if you don't plan on this then Spanish will be worthwhile, some levels for IL dialogue are not time sensitive so you can use any version you like.

How to properly perform the Shrek's Swamp skip

I have gotten a few people talking about how they can't seem to pull off the swamp skip shown in most of the any% runs, so here we are.

This skip is performed by doing a double jump and looking directly at the wall. If you do this right, you should clip through the wall. This can either be very easy or very hard for you to do, since it depends on your FPS (unfortunately). If you have a very low end PC, it can take a lot of attempts or a lot of luck to get past, while if you have a high end PC, you can do it pretty much every attempt, very consistently.

Don't jump to conclusions though, thinking that this game is pay-to-win, because even though it makes this skip easier to pull off, it makes tree clipping harder and makes the ladders more broken.

Looking up increases the chance of clipping.

If you do have a low end PC though and still want to actually get runs, refer to the glitchless route currently being used. You'll lose around 10 seconds, but this doesn't really matter until top 5, and even then, you can still WR with a +10 swamp.

Hopefully this clears up any confusion with newer runners.

Skipping the main menu cutscene

(this has been updated by Master_64, as it is more stable and looks much better)

1. Go to your game directory and go to Shrek 2\system\cutscenes
2. Locate the file named GameMenu.int
3. Edit the text file and delete everything inside of it.
4. Paste this into the file: https://pastebin.com/S2JmJ7rn
5. Save the file.

Now anytime you load up your game, the cutscene will automatically be skipped.
