New Changes

Leaderboard Change

  • NTSC and PAL have been separated on the leaderboard due to fps differences which give an unfair advantage to PAL players. The difference after all the math is PAL being around 5 minutes faster on the full game Story than NTSC since it runs at 25 fps instead of NTSC which runs at 30 fps. And over the course of 2 hours, those frames add up to a lot of time save. Be sure to pick the proper Region for the subcategory and console region at the bottom of the submission. Failure to input the region or match the region will result in a rejected run.

New Game Rules

  • All runs submitted need video evidence. Any runs submitted without a video will be rejected.
  • All audio must be clearly audible to mitigate cheating.
  • The video for the submitted run should only show what is necessary for the submitted run. Any compilation videos or streams will be rejected as it makes it extremely difficult to moderate them in an efficient way. There may be exceptions but this will not be the rule. If you are unsure if you are submitting a video properly, ask in the Discord server or DM a moderator
  • The submitted video needs to be either a YouTube video or a Twitch highlight. Any streams from Twitch submitted that are not highlighted will be rejected as the video may be lost. YouTube videos are preferred but not required (its easier for retiming).

Full Game Rule Additions

  • All run videos must show from console startup until passing the finish on the last race of Motegi Super Speedway in Chapter 14. This is so all game changes can be seen and nothing is altered before the run starts. If the video you submit does not show what is stated above then your run will be rejected.
  • All runs must have the console/emulator reset before the run begins. This is to clear the game save data even if a run was previously ran like the game difficulty or car setting changes. If this is not seen in the submitted run then that run is invalid.
  • All new runs must be running on a new game save. This can either be from a clear memory card with no previous R:RE game saves, no memory card or picking New Game from the screen that says Enter the World of R with the options of New Game or Load Game. One of these three ways must be shown in the recording of the run. Any runs that do not show one of these three ways will be an invalid run.
  • If a run needs to have previous save data that will be stated in the rules of that category. This does not pertain to Story or All Stories.
  • You may not change Cars, Transmission type, Difficulty, Brake Assist, or Settings as any of these could give an unfair advantage to your run over other runners. Any run with any of these settings changed beforehand will be invalid.

IL Rule Change

  • Time starts the frame before the milliseconds on the timer start moving. Time stops the frame the timer stops which should be the frame before the F in Finish appears. This may result in most previous runs needing a retime. If this confuses you please ask a Moderator.
  • Runs submitted should show clicking on the event challenge number and the menus before and after to help with verifying the run. This time is not added to the final time, just for moderation purposes.

If you have any questions or would like to add a rule that you think is important, let us know in the R: Racing Evolution Discord Server: https://discord.gg/6C2dAGHHZj

DISCLAMER!!!

It may take a bit to get the rules changed for all categories and I may miss some. Please let us know if something looks wrong or incomplete.
