For those of you who haven't seen, twitch has recently made a decision to put a cap of 100 hours on highlights and uploads for everyone on the platform. Starting in about two months (19 April 2025), they will begin deleting existing highlights and uploads belonging to anyone who is still over that 100 hour limit.

For speedrunners, this 100 hour limit is extremely easy to reach. I have hardly highlighted anything in the last four years (I've been putting everything important on YouTube instead), and despite that, I still have nearly 500 hours of highlights saved on my channel.

You can see how close you are to the 100 hour limit on your video producer page: https://dashboard.twitch.tv/u/YOUR-USERNAME-HERE/content/video-producer

(alternately, you can find it on your creator dashboard, under content -> video producer)

If you aren't over your 100 hour limit, then in theory, you don't need to take any action. However,

This is not the first time that twitch has suddenly decided to delete a significant amount of video that people assumed would be safe there indefinitely. These decisions have made it clear that twitch does not want to be a site that people use for hosting video. I highly recommend that everyone move your twitch highlights to YouTube, or any other video hosting service.

Moving forward, we will no longer be accepting twitch highlights as video proof for runs. Of course none of these services will last forever in the digital age, but twitch in particular has shown themselves to be unreliable. There is no guarantee that a twitch highlight now will still be there next year.

If you don't know the best ways to get your highlights off of twitch, I recommend the last half of this video, Ricky goes over a couple methods (link is timestamped to the relevant part)
