Hey, i’m brand new to uploading speedruns and had a question. I play MTPO on a gray Hyperkin Retron 1 HD and wondered if it’s considered an emulator, and if it’s legal or not for running this game? Been getting into playing the game recently and was curious. Apologies if I missed something about this in the rules or forums.

I'm not a MTPO mod, so this is just FYI. The Retron 1 is hardware based but known to be inaccurate. Whether that would put it in the realm of emulators or not, I'm not sure.
None of the Retron consoles are permitted for MTPO speedrun submissions. We actually had a discussion about Retron in Discord a few months ago as to why. I would encourage you to join the MTPO community discord for any questions or concerns. You are more likely to get a quicker response as a lot of us on the Mod team are more active there.
That’s unfortunate, only using it cause i need to get my Nintendo fixed currently, but good to know as of now. Appreciate all the info though, and I just joined up the discord too by the way. Thanks again.
