Can definitely be improved. As seen in level 10 you can jump on the spikes, but it's very inconsistent currently. Each one probably saves 0.5 - 1s and can be done in a lot of levels.

You can also climb the vine for a small time even when you transition to the state where it doesn't exist.

In level 4 if you time your jumps correctly you can just about get enough height to get to the top platform.
