Hi all,
I'm happy to share that I have been working on a load time remover and auto-splitter for MK8DX and I have made a lot of progress so far. It's at the point where people are able to start testing it out, so please give it a try if you have time.
This auto-splitter works by taking capture card output and looking for visual cues to determine when to split. In the case of this auto-splitter, it looks for the little checkered flag icon in the bottom left next to the lap counter.
Since the load timer is still in testing, it's not ready to be used for IGT submissions on the leaderboards, so please don't submit using IGT yet.

If you have any questions or issues when setting it up, please ask in the #support channel in the Discord (see the sidebar)
my brother in christ you are bumping the thread still what are you adding
@LukeSaward you don't even run this game what are you doing
who polices necroposting on src for a game they don't run or moderate? who polices necroposting at all?
i assume you're just here to be antagonistic
edit: i got blocked immediately after posting this
is there gonna be any updates for allowing this to be done with OBS 28? the plugin that's used for it doesn't work and doesn't look like it's going to be updated, so if there's a way to do it with the latest version of OBS that would be nice.
I’m not great at this sort of tech stuff, but I think you’re referring to the VirtualCam plugin—if so, there should be other ways to feed your game footage into LiveSplit so the VAS can read it. Personally I feed in the capture card footage directly, but if you can get some other way of reading OBS to work (I think there’s some sort of built-in virtual camera now, although I haven’t used it personally), you should be able to use that too.
If you have more questions (or if I misinterpreted your question entirely lol) I’d recommend heading to #autosplitter-support in the discord server.
If you can get LiveSplit to see the direct capture card footage, I’d recommend doing that, because 1) it doesn’t depend on external programs like OBS to support it, and 2) you can resize the game in OBS for different overlays, etc., without affecting the autosplitter
Apparently this version still works on OBS 28, too: https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/virtual-cam-filter.1142/updates
i completely forgot i posted this tbh, I can try to feed the footage directly, but I've tried in the past to minimal success. i can however try again now, thank you for the advice! ^^
