From my understanding thats how the timings are measured.
Also I think that the Any% you be split into to 2 categories, the current Any% be changed to Any% No Major Glitches (Allowing for half health and any mission exploits such as wall climbs). I think Any% should be reserved for runs using extra glitches such as the Commando glitch and the random campaign glitch.
I feel like runs without it would just be too slow, i think they should still be split up but maybe using a different category name .
Well, at that point you could just use a NTSC copy of the game. Any% and Glitchless% are 2 opposite things, to me that whole category is just nonsense and should be called Glitchless instead, where not a single glitch is allowed.
Even excluding glitches the PAL version of the game run quicker that NTSC from previous testing.
How come? Does the PAL version have special movements or something like that to compensate the 25hz?
I was testing the walking speed in Boot Camp on PAL and NTSC walking from the gate on the right of where you spawn and the barbed wire opposite and was recording times about 1 second quicker on PAL.
I assume that they ended up over-compensating for the higher frame rate on NTSC.
I timed the difference for walking and grenades and the time difference is quite large between the two.
Grenade Test
Time take between the grenade hitting full charge and landing in the water from the spawn in Mission 1.
PAL NTSC 2.75 3.41 2.97 3.36 2.91 3.37
Walking Test
Time taken to walk from fence to wire along the green, yellow and red path in Boot Camp.
PAL NTSC 12.81 13.87 12.80 13.59 12.79 13.77
Hey thank you guys for the suggestion that the rules need an update you are absolutely right. It is nice to see that the game becomes a little more popular here. I will make some thoughts how to update the rules and make them more clear. If you have more suggestions for the rules feel free to post it here.
