How to get faster times and get better in general! :D

1) Warm-up. One of the most important things to do that even I forget sometimes. For me personally, I would prepare for a Hillclimb or a circuit by going into free roam and running the course without the pressure of time.

2) Experiment with cars, the first car you pick may be your favourite, but it may not be the best for the course. Personally, I use the ETK I/K/800 Series, Cherrier FCV, and the Hirochi Sunburst/SBR4, but everyone has different tastes so I digress.

3) Strip the car of all of its unnecessary parts; doors, bumpers, windows, etc... Little by little the weight is reduced and you have a lighter car. I would suggest spawning in a weight pad to see where your car is at. Also, I would suggest reducing the fuel and sometimes the tire pressure, it really depends on the course.

4) I would experiment with nitrous oxide (When in vehicle customization, click engine once. You should see it). If it's for a short course, there's only so much it can do. For a long course, I would HIGHLY suggest it. Forex: most procedural time trials are really short and have sharp corners, no Bueno. For the Automation track, I would HIGHLY suggest, you go really fast and its a race track for a reason lol.

5) Look into buying a wheel or controller. NOTE: Most Time Trials / Bus Routes / Scenarios / Campaigns CAN be done with WASD, but that doesn't mean a controller/wheel couldn't help. I would suggest going to an arcade or somewhere you know has a racing simulator to see if you want one. It really depends on what track you are doing. I fall into a grey area where I used WASD for so long and now that I have a wheel, I am "fluent" in both WASD and driving.

6) Know your limits. If you want to get first in all of the time trials, then there's no point in not trying. But if you can't do offroad hillclimb, but are really good at racing on road courses, then do the road courses! I would also suggest doing what you are good at now, and doing the tough parts later. 

7) To add onto #6. You sometimes have to accept that you won't be first in everything. "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars." I will always take the 1st place in a time trial, but I won't be mad if I warm-up, trained, practiced, and got 2nd, I just know I have a worthy opponent. That doesn't mean I will give up, it justs means the my victory is delayed...
