Marine Combat tip

Been watching SGDQ and had a rather nostalgic moment of thinking about this buggy mess of a game again. I used to play it a bunch for the multiplayer and primarily ran as a marine player a lot. While playing though primarily in multiplayer, it still translates to campaign so I thought to make a point to see if people know about the ability to shotgun lunge/block. If there is any areas where you're forced into combat, perhaps this tip can assist? I can't honestly approve of enough in using the shotgun. A lot of folks in multiplayer never figured out what I was doing, and why even as a primarily marine player would consistently be higher in the match leader board. Alot of it ended up coming from a melee trick I picked up from the hours of play. During a quick melee, you have a brief time period as you lunge toward the target to fire your weapon. With a shotgun, this is especially deadly as the double barrel shot you can effectively one shot almost every enemy with this method. It's was cheap as heck in multiplayer, but you had to learn any trick in the book to deal with preds.

As the lunge will pull you close to the target, you close all gap and capitolize on the insane amount of damage a double barel blast can do. The only thing you have to be careful about is fighting alien enemies due to the blood. Watch the health bar, but you should be able to breeze through any enemies in a breeze. However there has been very rare moments that I've somehow been killed instantly from alien blood doing this, even having full health.

You can also shotgun and cancel immediately go to a block. If you have to get into a brawl, you can essentially get quick hits in with a single barel between blocks
