Just felt like starting a thread like this for people that want a speedrun that doesn't avoid playing the game. I'm new to speedrunning, so maybe this isn't something most speedrunners care about, but the game is fun to play and was wondering if it's worth it.
Some ideas: A no-skulls skipped run, no using heal/market nodes (if unavoidable, go through the 2nd portal), Level completion runs (you have to complete a certain number of levels [6 or 8 for example]. Skulls and challenges are counted as 2 levels for incentive). Deathless is another decent one, but I don't think it changes much from the original speedrun everyone does.
Just some ideas for playing the game AND being as fast as possible.
The point of speedruns IS to play the game, not avoid it. Adding challenges as categories is a neat idea but the community needs to agree with it. And seeing as this is a demo, I'm not sure this will happen. Also, about the "Just some ideas for playing the game AND being as fast as possible." This is literally the point of speedrunning. another idea: speed only under 99 meters a second.
speed under 99 m/s probably wouldnt work all that well since zoe naturally accelerates up to 106/107 m/s
We've finished setting up the full game leaderboard, please read the updated rules before running. We have got subcategories of each for seed type, save type and difficulty.
We are now requiring the use of Landfall's Speedrunning Tools workshop mod that adds features specific to speedrunning, fo
