New Category Idea: Bruceman%

Basic idea is to complete as much of the game as possible as Bruce. This includes collecting all possible Riddler trophies, breaking all possible balloons, and answering the first Zsasz phone call. Physical challenges aren't included because if you do them and then put on the Batsuit and look at the menu, it doesn't say you've done any physical challenges. Whereas the menu does say you've collected trophies and popped balloons even if it's done as Bruce. Biggest problem I can see with this is that it's always possible that more is doable beyond just what is done in my example run. Full example run:

My immediate thoughts; Just feels kinda arbitrary to me, do a random-ish amount of Riddler stuff, start a side mission, and then softlock. On principle I guess it's not any more arbitrary than Wayne%, but it's still an awkward amount of progress.

Looks kinda annoying to verify, and for people to know they've actually finished it, since you can't check the menu or anything when you're done. The route tracker would help, but that's not foolproof and doesn't help with console runs, and I don't really want to clutter that with meme category stuff if I don't have to.

Seems kinda long and slow for an extension category. Wayne% works because it's like a 5 minute goof but running around for 30 minutes collecting the least interesting trophies in the slowest ways sounds awful lol. Having to reload after like every other trophy also sucks, a good chunk of this run is loading screens.

Calling it something like Wayne Max% instead of Bruceman% would probably fit existing conventions better. Not that anyone other than me really cares about that.

If people actually want to run this we can figure out a proper definition for it and then add it, but to me it comes off as more of a challenge run concept than something that would make for a decent competitive speedrunning category.

I agree with pretty much all of that. I never realized how annoying it is to verify, which I have no clue how I didn't, considering in the run that I linked I ended up having to recollect a trophy because of reloading before the game saved.

Everything except for one Riddler trophy in this run actually is possible without using load warps, I just did it because it saves so much time.

Even with that being the case, I don't see this being a very fun thing to devote time to learning to speedrun. I did four runs total and overall it really is more of a chore than anything. Especially that Riddler trophy right beneath the museum.

Overall, looking at the run, I don't think this is something even a small minority of people would want to run. Most of the enjoyment I got out of this was the satisfaction of figuring it all out and then routing it, not from the actual run itself. You're right when you say it's better as a challenge run than a speedrun.
