Nice find and thank you for the video and explanation of it. When I think there isn't any more glitches in this game someone comes along a proves me wrong lol. if you could use this in the cave consistently then your on the right path for WR.
The cave section is the slowest of the three levels as its much more longer and narrower with no real setup of sheep launching in parts of it.
Any chance you could explain this new glitch or do you have a video of this new superspeed glitch you have found?
No need for retime. I got the same time with https://noobjsperson.github.io/speedrun-timer. If not using a timer, timer start is first visible in game frame and the stop timer is first visible frame on cutscene. Well done!
I have now changed the starting of Full Games.
The community have decided that they would like to be able to start at any location, as its NG+ after all!
The rules have been changed on the desired categories.
Any% NG+ Solo's You will have to go into the mission levels and choose The Atlantic Wall to begin, as New Campaign will revert you back to the submarine deck.
Any% NG+ Co-op You can start at any location, starting with Atlantic Wall as you don't have the option for New Campaign.
I will later add the addition to another category, Any% NG+ OSL which will be all the original starting locations if people want to run it.

The newest category idea is having the longest shot ILs (Time Ascending) and Welrod Only (Iron Sight) 450m Loose Ends.

Due to the In-Game Timer not properly giving the correct times up to dying or restarting the checkpoint we are changing to Real Time with and without loads.
I have been working with Kuno to make an autosplitter with removed load times. Removing the loads times will make it fair for everyone whilst still making it consistent for other categories. (Sniper Elite and Authentic Plus)
This is for PC only, Console players will still record Real Time and the moderators can remove the loading times. You can access the autosplitter through Livesplit.
Right click Livesplit > edit layout, input and select the game. Then under click activate and ok it.
Some rules have been relaxed, except from proof of difficulty in higher levels, quick saves and load which are still not allowed.
I have gone through all the full game runs in all difficulties and re-timed.
Individual levels WILL not be touched and carrying on using the IGT.
Hey guys, I was wanting to see what the community thought about if the sniper elite games all got together and made similar rules so each game can be played consistently.
I know for the game I mod, Sniper Elite 4, that it's currently RTA Loadless which the community had voted to switch the any% category to be a compilation of IGT times for each level, but I had noticed for SE1/SE2 that they both don't have anything close to that they still use RTA timing method (SE 3 seems to have a load remover when I tried it out.)
I know this community isn't big like many other series but a big reason for that is there is a obvious lack of consistency between each game, as I know many of the SE4 runners would like to branch to the other games. Especially with Sniper Elite VR coming out soon and hints about SE5 coming out.
I would love feedback about this and to see if any of the runners would be interested in seeing the games be consistent.
Also, I had converted the Sniper Elite 4 discord into a general series discord so could the mods of SE1-SE3 also add this into their games so runners can be linked to there as well. https://discord.com/invite/RvJ82gf
Sorry if it sounds like I am telling you, I'm not. But to be honest no one on SE4 ran a true any% but a few people said it should be NG+ so I changed it to that adding in the DLC weapons, skins etc. A fresh any%, would have to go into the steam folder and delete the files/folders each time. Not sure on ZA4 as its on Epic.
The way you put it sounds reasonably good, (I would wait till someone does a true any% for another leaderboard) But it's up to you what you want to do, the reason I asked is someone from SE4 was interested and I may pick the game up soon, as both SE4 and ZA4 run the same asura game engine.
Not a problem I was asking as I allowed it on Sniper Elite 4 on the basis that it's not a true any% 😉

Okay, I understand you now. There is no way to grab the bell without triggering "Get into the Model Village".
As for the purple fence, I wasn't sure if you could clip through as I have been sock clipping out the bottom of Tina's (Lady's) fence.
I am guessing you have been clipping through the alley between Back Gardens and High Street both in and out?
As for the category you proposed, you will have to wait for a Mod to answer.
How would you go about exiting both High Street and Back Gardens the way it was intended, without doing a task. I'm just curious? I'm not sure what you mean by "task completed upon entrance the game can't be finished"? For both are we using glitches or glitchless?
Anyway, your proposed category would be.
Get into the Garden. Break the broom. Make someone break the fancy vase. Get in to Pub. Get into Model Village. Followed by bell return?
The game isnt that long, 45 mins on medium difficulty.
I think the best option is having Real Time, with separate loading times and have a new category for segmented which will be for in-game timers.

What about restricting the amount of restarts that can happen in one full run?
But a segmented category sounds like a better idea for the hardest difficulty. Or would it be easier to retime the runs on the leaderboard in real time and bring in separate load times?
I see where they are coming from as the in game timer is there, they don't want to lose the out with loading times etc. But at the same time doest feel like a true speedrun if they have the ability to have say one restart?

If a game has in game timers, but on restart checkpoint it does not add the time after the failed checkpoint, if someone legitimately failed and restarted the checkpoint and completed it, the final in game timer for that level is then incorrect.
If disabling restarting checkpoints, the harder difficulties are then very hard. And the hardest difficulty, you have to restart the level.
The community doesn't want to go rta and stick with in game time. Is it then a true speedrun if someone can repeat a level that they previously failed and the completed in game time is their final time for that level?
My thoughts are, letting the full game have at least one legit death and write off the failed time.
Allowing the restart checkpoint back and giving a penalty of say 20 seconds.
Allowing the restart of either checkpoint or restart and use the real time to add to the in-game time of both in games?
I am just unsure and need opinions please. Thank you for you time.
