I have all the files decompiled, textures, world data, scripts and animations, I can upload them on mega. Also about playing on Nightmare, I've finished a full no saves playthrough about a year ago. I don't remember much but I know there is a part in the celestial episode in waste wharf 2, where you have to fight 3 unipsychos, I almost gave up on the whole playthrough because of that, so the best of luck to you guys.
Also some beta stuff (this is beta since the gasbag texture is the release one): https://jmp.sh/Qoh8O8Qa Also some funny stuff:
Glad you got it fixed. Your hud problem is because of 1.13 patch, hud scales with resolution. I didn't had much time to look for new tricks and glitches since I've been bussy with university, but civvie's video made me wanna have a look at this game again. Also I plan on doing a full on remaster in Vulkan starting today, for my uni licence project and I'll be keeping all the assets as they are, glitches and speedrun tricks (Adding a tickrate of 48ticks/second so that you can speedrun it with 48fps physics but at buttery smooth 240fps+), the only change is that it will play better on newer machines. but this might take a while until it is finished.
Edit: Starbearer boots might be skippable
I play on Win11 on almost vanilla setup with DDrawCompact for Win11 24h2 + 1.13 patch. It works better than it would on dgvoodoo from what I've tested, being able to run this at 240fps without breaking any physics, and including DInput8 but this doesn't make any difference for me for whatever reason (playing on 125hz G502X PLUS). I tried felizpe patch, It works flawlessly on Win10 (any version) and Win11 (24h1), but doesn't on 24h2 since ddraw wasn't updated for newer Win11. The only thing I haven't patched is the .exe, and so I use PowerISO to mount the KPC.iso and launch the game.
Game should work out of the box, adding only DDrawCompact. Should give it a try to install it with ddraw 24h2 even though you use win10.
I encourage you to speedrun this game again, I find it extremely fun. Also there is a custom map editor for various lithtech games made in godot by a guy https://haekb.itch.io/lithtools Edit: If you have any questions about any tricks and glitches, I can help you out!
You mean the normal jumps or the one which launches me into space ? Well, the first normal jacko jumps you either do them with crouch and then jumping and placing a jacko under you on 60+ fps or you limit your fps to 48 and do them without crouch which is faster and you consume less jackos. The other trick with launching yourself with the jacko can be done at almost any fps in a corner, if your player gets stuck then you 100% can do that glitch, usually you want to find corners between two walls or rotated geometry aka rotated boxes and rocks, since the game does not calculate properly rotated hitboxes, you get stuck in those object's corners. aka what happens at 2:50 in my 11:43 run. You can get stuck in waste wharf 1, there are certain boxes which are rotated at a degree and you get stuck in it's corners and after you place a jacko under yourself and hold space, a ton of velocity adds up and you get flown into the air.
About the beast king optimisations: Firstly I was looking for small skips and I found out that you can skip Earth Rift 2 completely and in Earth Rift 3 you can get kinda out of bounds, then after a while I realized that rotated geometry makes you stuck so you can perform the jacko box jump and then out of nowhere while going back to Earth Rift 3 and doing the glitched corner jump, I found out there is a void trigger that does nothing in the air which in fact finishes the level cuz the game does not know how to handle it. I've looked at that level ending trigger in the map viewer and it's literally a black box, where all triggers have a name on them, this one is the only thing that has no name. With these 2 skips I found, I also realized that you can just skip the scourge entirely cuz you won't have to pull yourself with it anymore.
This run can be optimised to at least 10:59 and elmle could 100% even go faster than that with this new pathing and I'm certain this game ain't finished.
MoltenVein 2 and EarthRift 2 optimisations:
Can't we just skip through doors with jacko boxes in morbid manor 1 ? Also the start of beast pen 1 is to the left of the exit, if we could find a corner to launch up in the sky with the jacko, we could make it 40-50 seconds faster.
