I swear this had been posted about before, maybe I'm dreaming, or maybe it was deleted (probably the first).
So there's not really an issue for making IL boards for minigames, worst thing is that it'll look a bit funny cause it'll be side by side with the map ILs and I don't know of a way to seperate that. The bigger reason to not do it though is there's already a dedicated site for the minigames, which includes the timed ones and the score based ones. We'd only have the time based ones so it would be a bit silly to have an "incomplete" set of games when a full set of games already exists out there. Hell, they also have a Time Attack leaderboard that has 3 runs that are better than the current WR on this site, so it's definitely being used by good players. Site in question is here: https://cyberscore.me.uk/game/1361
I'm leaving the conversation open if people really want to add the minigame ILs, I guess to me it just feels a bit redundant since a very active board already exists.
I know that there's differences with where you save the game (hard drive vs SSD), but other than that it should be mostly the same. usually with PC games, sometimes there can be load removers that can level the playing field (cause hardware differences are sorta bs) but I'm not exactly sure how to go about doing that for any given game.
a 2nd place run as a first submission to the boards with 0 proof looks suspicious
Hi! Everything we have can be found in the community site linked above (and also here: https://sites.google.com/view/tmcspeedruns ). There isn't any specific page for NG+ unfortunately, but if you have questions, there's a lot of helpful people in the discord

We wouldn't be able to avoid going in to an extra level at the end since we can only unlock one "X followers" objective per map, and we hit 5, 30, 55 and 85 between Lighthouse 1 and Muttropolis so it would only end up saving the time it takes to burst the bike dog + submitting pics, roughly 5 seconds. Granted, 5 seconds is a lot in a 3 minute game
I'll spitball a few (yet to be tested) ideas:
- There's usually a stick and banana very close by in Lighthouse 2 as we make our way past the vending machine (just to the left), could give it to dog on the sailboat
- There's an item on an umbrella very close to the cabin spawn in Boardwalk
- There's another item under the bridge (if you need to go for that envelope) in Boardwalk
- Item right by the pond in Muttropolis
At the very least, it could make getting followers more consistent, since god knows that's the number one thing this game is missing. Good luck on runs!
If you're just looking to play around and learn, this game is pretty easy to pick up because of how consistent it is to get through the game, with the exception of Anna in most of the routes. You normally need Anna to get a Second Seal, but for practice purposes, you can grab one from the wireless content (X menu > Wireless > Renown Rewards > Second Seal). Normally this isn't allowed in any% (allowed in ng+ though) but again, very much helpful in practice if you want to go the Second Seal route.
MrTyton's guide is the most up to date and very well fleshed out, but if you prefer a video guide, my 2017 guide is still pretty relevant with most of the current strats and has visual explanations. If you have any questions, the best place to get an answer is definetly the discord, people are very helpful there. Good luck on the runs!

I'm still testing but looks like going into Extra 2 isn't even required? Still a lot of things to test rn and it sorta sucks cause there's no cloud backup or anything. I've launched the game, beaten World 5 then deleted save data and World 6 is accessible. There's some black magic going on in the background
in that case I believe you'd need to go beat world 5 (or 6?) then enter Extra 2, after that the game should register those worlds as "beaten" and will load them when you level skip.
Did some (not so) quick testing and I've narrowed it down to this:
Step 1: Launch the game Step 2: Beat levels and get 500 berries Step 3: Enter Extra World 2 (500 berry world) Step 4: Exit to main menu Step 5: Delete save data Step 6: Start new game Step 7: After getting the first tear, exit to main menu Step 8: Continue game
As long as you've beaten every world, they should all be unlocked and available. If you ever exit out of the game, you'll need to regain 500 berries and enter Bonus World 2 again. Video for the visual lerners out there:
The only supermod for minsh cap has been locked out of his account for a minute (read: 2018) and we are in need of new mods, I'm requesting to be upgraded to a supermod - https://www.speedrun.com/tmc
Edit: Falco's response when I asked him: "At some point they reset everyone's passwords, but I had to use a dummy email when I set up my account for some reason I don't remember so I have no way of either knowing my new password or resetting it" (after the xsplit data breach)
For the game I mod, if someone forgets to hard reset we verify the run but let them know in DMs that they need to do a hard reset for submissions. Having a note would make it so they don't get a bye twice, if two seperate mods verify their runs. I can think of a number of other cases where it would be helpful
that is currently the innefficient and cumbersome way we are doing things, having notes on the user's submissions would streamline the process a lot
Hopefully this is the right place to post, but having the option to add notes for some users for all moderators of that game to see would be nice.
Ex: I mod a game where users need to hard reset before starting runs on emu, which is often forgotten by newer runners. Being able to add a note that says "this person often forgets to hard reset" which shows up when they submit a run would be helpful.
we've actually had a bit of discussion in the discord (which I realize isn't actually linked on this page, but it's linked here https://www.speedrun.com/fire_emblem ), we're just trying to figure out a fair ruleset before allowing it, but it seems the majority like the idea of allowing emulators
Post here if you would like a category to be added. Minimum requirements are 3 separate runs (with video proof) from different runners. Accepting categories is up to moderator discretion.
