Ontario, CanadaHello Everyone reading this. I have added new sub categories for emulator runs. A run was submitted and it just looks to be faster in many spots that are not the same as real hardware. This also occurred with Waialae Country Club: True Golf Classics runs where emulator runs handle lag differently and thus made the runs faster. The run in question is
Please feel free to watch the run and comment what you feel on my decision. Also I erased the boards by doing this as I have never done this before. I believe I have re instated all the runs correctly. Please let me know if I have missed anything. Thanks for understanding. If only we could all have real hardware to be on an equal playing field
I’m ok with that. Have you watched the WR video. He doesn’t even show the title screen. I’m just wondering how to compare to that. Either way I’ll just keep my timing and when I get a run close enough we can figure it out.
Sounds good. I’m confused about the start timing. Are you referring to the title screen before you select tees and player name? WR does not start timer until the second screen after selecting tees and name. Both which are skippable scenes. Timing should start as soon as you press start on the player select screen.
Any thoughts on using ladies tees in Any%? It seems faster than regular tees as some holes can be reached in one shot instead of two. Should there be a separate Category? I will be using them for all my attempts at WR
I like the idea of sub categories. Similar to OOT where they have 100% srm and then a tab for no srm. Two different categories would be to much confusion.
Also, where is the love for 1 warp. Not saying it should be moved but it has just as many Submissions as all forts. Don’t ppl wanna be doing clips and playing 7-4. :Kappa
I feel all forts took a big hit when the wrong warp was introduced into the run. The wrong warp can be intimidating for new runners. Would it be possible to have separate categories? I Understand this would be a pain for moderation to work out. Maybe new runners would run the old route and could move to doing the wrong warp after being more comfortable with the game in general. Just a thought cause all forts is a great category.

I agree with IL’s leaderboard being a drag for moderators. Its just a lot of levels. I would like to see some shorter categories like coinship% (get one after 1-1) and soft lock% which you do in 1-3. Even a secretest exit IL would be fun which is a cool meme.
From what I’ve seen in his posted run. Kurt is a very high level speed runner. I would love to see him take this category time down to where it should be.
I watched this video on YouTube. Half way through when he starts to play on PlayStation you see him choose single then tournament. See if this helps. It shows 4 rounds on the scorecard after holes.
I don’t see why we couldn’t start a category for PlayStation runs. See if you can figure out 72 holes and do some runs and we can go from there.

Also do you think I am cheating in any way. I had a person msg me on twitch which called me out as being "fishy". And while i was watching your 42:58 you seemed to have the same feelings that something was up

First off id like to thank @MeridianPrime for making me a Mod for Cyber Tiger.
I have set up a stroke play Category. It is separated into the 3 different courses. This will also need to be discussed in Tournament%. I have not tested to see if the Best of TPC course could be faster for runs. This could be a another subcategory added along with Volcano if people would like to run them. If there is any interest for 1P vs Computer runs ie. Tiger Challenge, Skins game, Match Play they could be added as well.
Rules are straightforward. Beat the game finishing 72 or 18 holes. I feel its best to have mulligans off so it does not affect your run. Wind may be left on or off runners choice. If any glitches or trick are found they will be looked at and discussed within the community and rule changes will be made accordingly.
All Emulators will be accepted for now. If runs are submitted and there are any discrepancies this will be discussed within the community and rules will be changed if needed
Last off, Big Thanks to @MicheloniN64 for getting the WR and giving me the motivation to come back and run this game again.
Lets get some people running this game. Hopefully the addition of stroke play category can get some interest in the boards. The quicker runs will be more accessible to lots of runners.
Intersesting. Thanks for the research!! I'm sure it is hard to really figure out how much the time difference is.
I would like to see a separate category for emulators. Sp0ck1's times could be way lower if he shot close to under par.
yes there should be a different category if people do runs at all or just ban. Easy shot can save time depending on the club as higher clubs come down quicker and low irons can be really slow.
First off thanks for making this page and having this game as a speedrun.
Why do you have to change the handicap to 36? I do not believe it changes anything. You cant change it in tournament play.Once staring a new player there handicap is 36 and changes to how good you play after playing more.For stroke play i have been turning it up.
Easy shot is an option you can turn on in game options. It makes the game faster and is close to a cheat. It tells you a range where to hit the button for how far your shot will go. It also does not have a downswing so you only hit the button twice. If this is allowed then there should be a different category. I have been doing all my runs with easy shot turned off.
It would also be cool to see a category to run all four rounds.
