I just started learning the speedrun of this with blaze and I am noticing that twitch has started muting audio on my VoDs or saying about DMCA complaints for the boss fight music at the end of each stage and the elevator on stage 8 of course my runs are not competitive at present I have around 50 minutes on normal but I am worried how to get a VoD without muted audio. My PC is not great so doing a stream and local recording at the same time puts a lot of strain on resources and makes emulator laggy at times. Does anyone have any suggestion how i can record the run locally? Even if the audio muting half way is not a problem for verification purposes (it is in other games when you get nearer the top) I would really like to have a nice video of my run / attempts when happy enough to start submitting. Thanks in advance
I am trying to learn this run but I am having problems with the family skip / clip in the piano room. Sometimes I can get it but other times it is zipping immediately off the top off the screen and I don't understand why.... additionally as far as i can tell from experimenting if you zip off the top of the screen it is a softlock? The same thing can happen if you press down again after you started the clip through the wall.
After Streaming for 20 minutes or so from obs the audio starts to garble and sounds like it is underwater. I used to capture with vmix and add a vmix video source on obs to solve this but vmix is no longer free so I need another solution.
-I have been suggested to use line-in for the audio capture I know this used to work when I had an EZcap but my current laptop does not have a line-in.
Possible solutions
1/ new capture card that doesn't garble the audio (any recommendations?) I don't want to convert to hdmi capture card and create lag otherwise might as well just stick with my current (hopefully short term emu solution)
2/ pay for v-mix or find an alternative free program (recommendations needed)
3/ some sort of adapter so I can get around not having a line-in on my laptop and stick with GV-USB2
Any advice appreciated, only interested in snes / older consoles which use red/white/yellow connectors
I'm interested in doing runs of this game but I feel that the rules need some clarification especially on the IL side of things because you could for example do mission 2 using 3 lightfoot scrolls or even more silly chameleon disguise (mission 8 Grandmaster item) and 3 lightfoot scrolls to get a ridiculously fast Grandmaster IL.
Another item which could be abused to get Grandmaster ILs is mission 10 Grandmaster item to reset enemy status.
My personal opinion on this is that you should only be allowed to use items attainable in single segment i.e no chamalion disguise until mission 9 and only 1 use allowed because you should only have 1, same goes for LFS on mission 2 because you should only have 1. This means that you could use 3 chameleon items in mission 10 (only applicable to Grandmaster% really)
Another query is about the Japanese version (shinobi gaisen) not the one with 2 missing missions. In the Japanese version the mission layouts do not become random until you have finished layout 1 (which is default) this is a huge disadvantage in mission 3 and mission 10 because you always have the archer shooting at you when you are trying to jump the gap / lava respectively.
Can we allow NG+ in Japanese meaning you would start a game with all missions cleared so that the run would be identical to US / PAL of course you would have to make item count in line with a new game to make it fair.
Sorry for long post, interested in opinions on these matters :)
