If we you make it we will consider/test it first!
For actual consoles, IGT is the only way to go, even though you can upgrade drives. Unfortunately 07 is in an odd situation; if there was an LRT for it we would run it.
Unfortunately no, this is the only way we can consistently time across all platforms!
Turbo buttons/macros are only allowed for button mashing QTEs. You cannot use them to pick up items, open doors, etc.
Currently this mod is not allowed for speedruns. Feel free to use it in casual gameplay!
CE categories needs significant interest and multiple people to actually run it to be considered. We don't want to flood CE with low volume categories; we have been cleaning it up recently.
That would be ideal to have the timer on screen, but all runs will be manually retimed regardless.
Since this is a new game, submission requirements are subject to change as the speedrun develop.
These are the General Rules. Refer to the Category Rules for more details for the category.
➣ Switching movement types mid-run is NOT allowed.
➣ Turbo controllers and macro inputs are banned.
➣ Video proof of the entire run is required for ALL runs, starting at the difficulty selection, and ending after making your one and only save at the final typewriter following the results screen (you cannot make any other saves besides the final typewriter save).
➣ ALL runs MUST have game sound. External music is allowed as long as the game audio is clearly audible.
➣ Runs are ranked by in-game time shown on the results screen and NOT the one shown in the final typewriter save. You still need to make your one and only save at the final typewriter following the results screen (you cannot make any other saves besides the final typewriter save).
We are still observing how the game is before deciding on what to do with it!
It would help a lot if at least 2 people actually complete a run in the category you request.
Sorry, there are a lot of IRL things going on with the mods, so run verifications can either be really fast or really slow.
I apologize for the inconvenience!
To run RE4 on the Wii, you can only use the disc version (for Wii or GCN), USB/SD loaders to boot the game are not allowed.
Some VoDs are removed due to Twitch updating their new copyright policy; these runs have been previously verified so they will remain on the boards.
Newly submitted runs from this point on need to have VoDs that follow Twitch's policies.
The console submission requirements have been updated in this stickied post here:
What we will start doing from now on is to have all runs be verified by having video footage of the final typewriter save (besides WR runs which need a full VoD). The mod team has discussed this and decided that this is a good middle ground. Ideally everyone would have a full VoD but having a full recording/streaming setup can be very expensive.
I will update the rules later tonight or tomorrow then make a post in the Discord!
Please let me know if you have any further suggestions :)
When this debate started in RE2 Remake speedrunning, I suggested RE2 Remake cap at 90 FPS, seeing as it looks better than 60 FPS, and is more accessible to more people than 120 FPS. This should be taken into consideration at the least.
The new Wipe/Pitted autosplitter is available on LiveSplit, so go ahead and use it to your heart's content!
IMPORTANT NOTES: ➣ Make sure to check out the settings tab and play around with the options to find out what works best for you.
➣ On LiveSplit, make sure you are comparing to Game Time instead of Real Time.
➣ Make sure that the "Load Remover and Framecount Timer" box is always checked.
Here are the layouts for everything, labeled "Wipe Timer v2 Everything" (includes chapter splits and subsplits!).
Please do not forget to include your one and only final typewriter save in your video proof when submitting your run; I had to reject a handful of submissions since the VoD did not contain the final typewriter save.
