Hello all,
Please give feedback when you get a chance. I wanted to suggest an additional category to pacifist: a variation if you will. In this category, you still can’t destroy enemies in the levels, and you must still use your pea shooter (low% rules) however, you would be allowed to destroy projectiles in boss fights; destroy the tanks in snowfield, and also destroy the shrimp in the alien head, as that’s technically a mini-boss.
I’m suggesting this, because speedrunning should have varied categories to give people a confidence builder, from going one category to the next. Also, it can give more practice of pacifist, in the later stages, in addition to more practice of low percent
In short, there would be two pacifist categories: the one that is currently active, and then an additional category where it’s more of a pacifist/low% hybrid
Please leave any feedback when you can. Thanks!
Is the hyper knee allowed for non-attack situations? For example, using a hyper knee at the gear section: whether it was intentional or not.
Thanks again in advance!

Thanks! I felt like I had nothing to lose by going for it. I was looking at the left corner of the screen as a visual cue, and was happy to pull it off. Thanks for the congrats!
Hey MM5 board,
If players are playing on the US version, their time should automatically be cut down by 18 seconds, cause the Japanese version scrolls through the text/Wily Castle cut-scene quicker *on the MM leaderboards, they make that 18 second adjustment as well
*edit: there’s a legacy/anniversary board, I see
Please let me know what your thoughts are when you get a chance. Thanks in advance!
Thanks KumaKhan for getting back to me. Yes, from what I know, this is the only game where I get "server error"
I've tried submitting a run in the past, but got a "server error", and then trying to submit it again today-getting the same thing. Just bringing it to someone's attention-maybe it's something on my end? Anyways, just checking in.
I’m playing now with everdrive pro and retro USB AVS. People have had runs accepted with the AVS from what I know
Should runs on the Contra Anniversary Collection be a separate category, or should they be combined into the same category? On the page, as of now, it only allows or shows “Arcade”
On the Contra Arcade board, the Anniversary collection is allowed. (Switch, etc)
Please get back to me when you can. Thanks
Frame count come to around 6:10:20-we split a bit late. just in case if we had happened to split early.
My route A run isn’t playable/viewable, despite it still being public on my Youtube channel-I didn't make it unlisted or anything. Can the mods please take a look, when they get a chance.
Thanks, ThumbBros
GG! For this run, when are the starting and ending times? I loved this game back in the day, and was excited to see it on the board
It’s good that this is being discussed. I was looking to start running the game myself-also other new runners could be on the horizon as well. So, its good to know about differences between PC/steam, and console versions. Maybe give this discussion some more time before deciding if it’s best to create a separate category.
One thing that was noticeable, that at least from what I know, you can’t restart a level with the Steam/PC version-maybe it needs to be updated? I know with the console versions, at least with the Switch, you can restart a level
I need to give it more tests, but I did play the first boss on the Steam/PC version, and it seemed to take more cycles to take down the boss. I can’t verify this at the moment, cause was using a different controller. And again, video footage helps along the way. @Segaman, if you have a video demonstration to show some of the differences you pointed out, that would be a good start for the discussion
If there happens to be substantial differences between the Steam/PC version with the Switch; PS4, Xbox versions, it would make sense for a separate category.
However, Super Cyborg is a very niche game, so there’s not much info at the moment, regarding differences. If there’s some video demonstration to have some sense of clarity, that would be helpful
Hey everyone, I'm looking to try some runs of Rival Turf. Is "Angry Mode" allowed? I think I saw a run that had someone use that option, but then another, that didn't.
Thanks again!
