In line with other ace combat games, the difficulty option for NG+ will probably be Ace. Adding a difficulty option for every difficulty and game type is a little excessive and splitting. Subject to change if a specific category becomes very popular.
You are welcome to, but you won't be compared with PS2 runs.
Sorry, I don't really read the speedrun.com forums much, and haven't seen anyone trying to contact me. A site mod contacted me about it and I've gone ahead and series modded you. You may want to ask dangerless or some site mod about getting added as an individual mod to all the games (from what I can tell that's actually the intent of a series mod). I'll probably remove myself if I'm no longer needed, feel free to change what you want for the series and community.
I've gone ahead and created a discord and added it to the series page after a user requested one. I've also requested a site mod to add me as a series mod to all the games so I can consolidate formatting. speedrun.com/acecombat now links to the series page (the search function is very wonky for me, so this should help getting here faster).
I've set up a text channel for each game. If anyone has suggestions on how to better format the discord I'm welcoming of suggestions.
While we can always post on the main ace combat series forum page, I agree that speedrun.com can be difficult to check for updates, and discord is very prevalent nowadays. I've gone ahead and created a discord and added it to the main series page. This is a very small community but who knows.
Pre-order only content are obviously going to be banned(which I think the F-4E is). I don't think the Deluxe edition adds anything that changes single player. Unfortunately the PC edition isn't out so we can't compare it to the console versions yet, but I am hopeful we can use in game time and freely compete between all the editions.
Also I am waiting for the PC edition to play and have avoided spoilers so as I haven't played yet I'm not sure if there is a need for any special rules. If you have played a console version, do you think rules would need to differ from the AC4/5/0 ones?
The reason why I originally made the ruleset to use real time over IGT was it was a more complete timing because it includes the hanger and menu time. Losing time to random dialogue is just part of speedruns, it feels weird to me to have a run that is slower in real time be considered a "faster time" because they were faster during select parts of gameplay, instead of from game start to last hit.
I still check speedrun.com a few times a month to verify times. Good luck on grabbing that WR!
@Gorbish I'm not sure why the game was denied from the site team, but I've gone ahead and added it to the 40k series, and added you as a mod so you can edit the game, add rules, and your run and such.
A single person with an argument that your run is cheated, is drama, and enough to peace out?
You probably shouldn't join online communities in the first place if one person saying one thing against you is the final straw.
You should contact the moderators of respective games and go by their policies. He doesn't have video and they got accepted, so it's up to them to determine if they want to leave it up or ask for more proof.
Are we really going to force other places to hand write tens of thousands of categories and rules for each one that took thousands of users to make just because we don't want them copied word for word? When essentially they can be hand written the exact same way?
I'm all for guides and content like that to be protected. I just have a problem with other members of the speedrunning community not having reign to use publicly posted categories and rules easily. Which is what this site is for, easy access to public information, like categories, rules, and information on fastest times.
How can another website play by the same rules if they can't post them there?
I think the main problem with what TG did copying all the rulesets and categories from this site to theirs is that they didn't even bother asking us if they could. Especially since TG has a long history of shitting on the speedrunning community.
Would we really have a problem with another site using community rulesets and categories under their own verification system?
The head of TG makes a lot of good point in this thread. http://www.twingalaxies.com/showthread.php/144637-Article-Speedruns
Are rulesets for a game really something we want to have a monopoly on? Do we not allow people to speedrun under the rules here if they don't want to post to this site?
I think that other content like guides and such should be protected, but not rules and categories.
Why are there no runs then? Why would you make an account, mod a game you run, then put nothing onto the site?
Isn't there literally a rule about camping empty leaderboards.
That seems like something really regrettable if you make a mistake.
You can just ask any admin to do it, like you are doing now.

5 month afk moderator with 0 speedruns ever and mod on an empty game he didn't bother to add any runs to.
I just want to add the WR for completion sake, I'll give away mod if a runner joins this site and wants it.
I find it mildly humorous that they didn't remove it because of merit of integrity or anything, but because they didn't like getting swastica spammed in their twitch chat by mad speedrunners.

They removed it from the pressure, we did it!
