Cheers Jeremy, appreciate it :)
Hello! I'm currently looking at running this game, however I noticed only Mednafen and ePSXe are currently allowed. Are we able to utilize Duckstation for this run, similar to other communities? (Jeremy would know what I'm talking about from a Spyro perspective :) )
Hey Dstrike_Zero! We have a trick in this game called height cap break that effectively allows you to trick the game into thinking Spyro is flying down while he's actually flying up :)
If you watch back a run with a controller viewer, pay close attention to the left thumbstick. The way this trick is done is by holding ever so slightly up on the thumb stick while holding down on the dpad, and then letting go of the dpad prior to the height cap being reached while maintaining the thumb stick position.
What this does is tricks the game into thinking you are moving down thanks to inverted flight controls, but thanks to the held control stick, Spyro is actually being forced up :)
It's a tough one to explain with text alone, but if you want to record an attempt of you doing the glitch with controller inputs, you can jump in the discord where there are loads of people who can help you out with this! Would highly recommend if you're looking for feedback on things that aren't working like you think they should.
Also check out this guide, timestamped to height cap breaking. It's for Spyro 2, but works exactly the same across all three games:
Hello! Level storage is definitely a painful trick to get but is definitely doable on all* devices. If you're looking for tips on how to get it more consistently, I'd recommend jumping into the discord and posting your attempts to the #SRT-Spyro2 text channel. Loads of folks (myself included) who can assist with some pointers there :)
From the little I know from this forum post, I would wholeheartedly recommend performing level storage on Gulp rather than Ripto. I've found it much easier and frankly more consistent. But yeah, recordings of your attempts would help a tonne in identifying how to make things more consistent!
Hi there, just seeking some clarification around the rules for IRLPizza% NG+. Does this category include pizza ordered from the likes of a pizza hut/various other pizza locations, and if so, when does timing begin and end?
Additionally, how do I find what version I am on for IRLPizza% and can I downpatch if required?
Thank you for your time :) looking forward to submitting some delectable runs
