Hm, just watched the run and am seeing one thing which needs to be clearly defined. What does "OOB" mean in the context of this run?
If it's 'entering screens with no name' then the pilot for this violates this definition.
Would adding treemans domain and not falling down the right side of the tower ruin the spirit of the run for you?

I wonder if this is something the site staff would be willing to put to a vote, at least internally. I'd love to read all of their perspectives, in detail, on the viability of Speedrun.com having leaderboards that are not merely misc. categories but main categories based solely on score and not for completions of games.
Not really a bad rule, though in practice a better rule overall would be that runs must be submitted by the creator of the run themselves. Making submissions to the leaderboard an opt-in process rather than an opt-out process that they may not even be aware of.
Just gotta throw this in: https://www.speedrun.com/about
'speedrun.com is a site that provides leaderboards, resources, forums and more, for speedrunning.
Speedrunning is the act of playing a video game with the intent of completing it as fast as possible, for the purposes of entertainment and competition.'
Games that cannot be 'completed' should not have leaderboards on this site just by the foundation of that alone.

So when is that community vote happening to get a consensus decision?
PrettzL: My post should still speak for itself, but I'll give a personal response (nothing guidance/rules related here.): If it was a board I moderated, I wouldn't really care much about an additional category listed behind the featured categories if people wanted it so long as it was well defined and didn't bloat the category list too much. Consensus is also good.
In case that was difficult to read, even kirkq said they wouldn't add a small amount of submitted runs in their own category to the main listings because it would obviously cause the board to become bloated.
It's interesting that you glossed over Kirkq's whole point about fairness and their expectation to involve the community in the decision making process:
xJackieBx/Zecora_MLP_1: Please just link a thread next time. I'm not reading through all of it, but my generic opinion is that if something related to an online game is one time attainable, it should be considered (not saying required) to split off into a separate category or subcategory to promote fair competition for newcomers. Some games release tons of one time attainable items, so maintaining a list of one time obtainable items might be tedious in some cases. If a board has a substantial amount of runners, consensus is generally the most correct answer. Have a vote or something.
What I took from that post was: Just because something could be distinguished with its own category does not mean that it necessarily should be distinguished at all, you guys need to come to an agreement on this one point, having a vote would allow everyone involved to share their opinion and decide the outcome without any more discussion.
For reference, there has been no vote. The decision continues to be handed down from one mod of the board. We are being ignored and the excuse is that "It's gotten annoying", well that's exactly how the community feels, slightly annoyed that we're being ignored entirely.
Kirkq can speak for their self on this.
If the argument sounds tired it's because it's not being addressed, so the tone of it wont change. It should be a pretty apparent sign of mishandling if the argument from the community sounds like a broken record.
Ozotuh: If you don't want to be involved in the resolution you should let your involvement in the topic "die". Doesn't that seem like such a reasonable stance to take on this?
This issue needs to be addressed and not ignored or glossed over by making a category that only 2 people will be running.
By continuing to deny that there is a problem ongoing is to continue to be unsupportive of the community.
Referencing the very first post in this thread:
Please keep in mind that using this thread is somewhat a last resort, in case the current moderators are not responding or refusing your help without justification. You should always start by asking the Super mods of a game/series as they are also able to add mods. Twitch messages to mods are probably best for now. Also try the game forums, many users get notifications when threads are created for games they follow.
Is it not apparent that ongoing the conversation has been Zecora saying "Shut up about it"? We're being threatened in to not even talking about the issue anymore- and Zeroca has flat out said:
This is not a productive dialogue, and continues to refuse to help the community resolve an ongoing issue that is a waste of leader board space and a couple of members of the communities potential.
I Was interested in running Destiny, but it seems that the general tone from one moderator is that it's more reasonable for me and other new runners and existing ones as well to stop trying to cultivate a healthy competitive environment by simply keeping quiet about unfair advantages being matched up against the baseline. So long as the community is lead by senseless dictators who say that we should just "accept it as it is". http://www.speedrun.com/Destiny/thread/po8w2
It's not acceptable, which is why the community is reaching out to powers beyond their sway. This will only continue to push away new people from the community. That seems to be what a minority of the leadership of speedrun.com/Destiny wants- If that's what speedrun.com wants for their communities then I guess the issue is resolved now.
That's an interesting perspective on the truth of the matter. As I understand it one moderator has voiced support for even distinguishing the SRL gear runs with leaderboard placement while 6+ members of the community would rather they be excluded from the general pool of runs for having a timelocked advantage.
Is that not what is going on here? Are we not going to take that seriously? Do you think I'm in this for laughs or something? We can talk this out, amicably, so long as we all remain reasonable.
I'm keenly interested in running this game, but the attitude that a distinct advantage that may not be available again gives to a couple of people who run the game should be matched up against those who cannot is ridiculous.
