Recruitment for minesweeper moderators has started. If you wish to help and become a moderator please fill out this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1n6dawUph9rB2Id4bKvVSJl3C-bP7iOQ1vxrceMQRyls You will be contacted soon after that to work out the details. If you have any questions, feel free to DM me on Discord (Maltaran#6060) or speedrun.com ( @Maltaran ) or any other minesweeper moderator.
The rules have received a few minor changes. Most of them are clarifications and special cases of the rules that already existed. Most important to notice are:
- For all future runs, the video recording must include:
- The moment of clicking "new game" button/face.
- The end-game/"you won" screen (if the version of minesweeper you are using has one).
- Not covered by anything else, view of the completed board.
- If you are playing on browser, the video or description must also include a full link/address of the website you are currently on.
- Especially on minesweeper.online, link to your replay must be included.
- The rules of timing have also been clarified.
Additional information and interpretations of the rules can be found at: https://www.speedrun.com/minesweeper/guide/aupit
So maybe it's high time to move timing to my timer in full-game categories too?
Upon closer examination, the run looks mostly legit to me.
There is something I call double click moves (clicking a card(s) to move and then clicking their destination without dragging them). Sometimes they are hard to distinguish from single click moves. However, at 0:38 it is clearly seen that zeekeenee clicks 9 and then the game highlights both 9 and 10. It would have been impossible if single click move option had been enabled, because the game would instantly move 9 and would not highlight 10 (tested multiple times myself). In other parts of the run, there are also situations that would have been impossible if single click moves had been enabled.
Some of his double click moves seem quite suspicious. However, as I wrote, it wouldn’t be possible unless the run had been spliced, not once, but really many times, which seems very unlikely to me. I will check the runs once again for signs of splicing, but I really believe that they are just really fast double click moves, not single clicks.
That's definitely not a reason to suspect the run. Probably just to have no ads.
Thank you very much for pointing that out. I'm really sorry that runs like this are still appearing on the leaderboard. zeekeenee has been added as the moderator, because there wasn't really a choice - he was one of only three people who promised to help. As you could probably see, the leaderboard was a complete mess like having Medium and Two suits runs in one category. It's partially thanks to him that leaderboard now looks much better. This was really unexpected that the person who has helped in fighting single click runs, started doing them himself. Nevertheless, cheating can never be tolerated and I promise to look closer to all his runs and collect all evidence. And probably, as result of which, reject them and remove his moderator privileges.
The recruitment has ended as a result of which @ASTRAIOS, @Baaru and @zeekeenee joined the mod team. Most problems has already been fixed including setting up categories properly. Thank you very much, because it would be impossible without your help. At the same time, I would like to say goodbye and thank @kiraa96 for cooperation, who has recently resigned from moderating this game.
This game desperately needs new moderators, as current ones are not really interested in it and it has multiple problems that need to be fixed. If you wish to help and become a moderator please fill out this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScSELS6QuLVEvKDptB6CEEKNHGpUCvJBrN-0__ZXCv9NikaWg/viewform
You are right. However there is a problem that no current mods are really interested in this game. @Otterstone_Gamer and @kiraa96 totaly ignores it and I gave up trying to fix it. Single tap is not only problem to be solved, because for example everyone times their runs differently (rules say RTA, but most runs have in-game time). if you commit to fixing this whole mess, I can even speak with Otterstone and Kiraa to add you as a mod here.
Just to make it clear, the autosplitter supports all PPSSPP versions from 1.7 to 1.12.3 and every game version (EU, US, JP), not only 1.12.3 US. Btw, thanks Ivander for submitting it here.
So you suggest keeping old runs, but at the same moment rejecting new runs because of something that old runs were allowed to do?
I am a moderator in game that definitely needs a rule change, so the players must show the moment of starting a new game (previously some players were starting recording from main gameplay as it's when the timing starts). It is required because then it can be seen if the player used some option which was technically not allowed even earlier, but otherwise there is no way to tell if the player used it. So here comes my question: Is it fair to reject old runs which do not follow the new rule? Because it also wouldn't be okay to keep them but reject new runs that break it.
Single Tap to Move is not allowed. Please check the rules. Also, I know that runs like this are being verified and generally, this leaderboard is a complete mess, but I (don't know if the other moderators too) will try to fix it. Nevertheless, thanks for information what other things should be banned after the rules change.
That's probably a better idea. But I afraid that making 12 categories (1,2,4 suits x Easy,Normal,Hard,Random) will be too much and most of them won't have any runs.
Categories are going to be reorganised since they are understood differently by each runner. For example, Intermediate was being understood as "One suit/Intermediate", "Two suits/Easy" or "Two suits/Intermediate". Also, there should be added "random" category for non Solitaire Collection players.
My idea is to leave current categories (specifying in rules that they all refer to one suit) and add "One suit", "Two suits" and "Four suits" where if you play on Solitaire Collection, you must play on random difficulty for example for Windows 7 players (believe me, I know decent amount of people who are still using Windows 7).
What do you think about it? Or do you have any other ideas for categories?
Okay, I take it back. It looks like I was fooled by fake 1.3.1 downloads. Version 1.3.1 exists but it's something else than claimed by these downloads.
One more time, thank you @Dezu123 for sending me real 1.3.1 version.
Thanks. I am very curious what it really is and how it differs from 1.3. In the internet all 1.3.1 downloads lead to 1.3 version, so I'm really looking forward to get real 1.3.1 version.
