Hello everyone, we are now keeping track of Wii Sports marathon runs on this spreadsheet here. For Wii Sports Resort, we have used the Category Extension boards to keep track of these. We don't get this luxury here, so we will use the spreadsheet for now.

Hello all that cares about Target Test All Characters. While Gooby was hacking away at Target Test 4, I routed through Target Test 5. The current trick we are following is what I am deeming the "Cannon Throw" route. There are currently 20 characters that can throw the beginning cannon and hit the top left target, and fall and hit the bottom left target. This significantly shortens TT5 runs, changing from an average of 24-25 seconds to 17-18 seconds.
Also note that so far we have yet to find a difference from Brawl and Project M for this. So this is why I am including it here.
Here is the list: Mario Luigi Kirby Fox Game & Watch Diddy Kong Falco Squirtle Ivysaur Ice Climbers Lucario Ness Sonic Wario Toon Link Rob Olimar Lucas Charizard* Ganon*
*Charizard and Ganon have to do a slide throw in order to make the cannon go all the way to the target.
Note there may be more, but this is the list I have so far found. Feel free to add. For the rest of the characters, the best strat so far is to use your cannon to shoot the top left target, then your last target would be the bottom left.

Hello everyone. Normally as marathon runners we try to get all of our games into as many marathons as we possibly can. This week is probably the most Wii Sports Resort will be ran so far this year. We have 4 runs between 2 of us (lol). So I'll list them off here. Come out and support us!

Good evening everyone. Cmdr here for the Wii Sports Resort mod team. I am here to tell you the changes coming to the Wii Sports Resort leaderboards for the months of July and August. We got some pretty cool things planned out that I am excited to tell you about.
Multiplayer/Team Sub Categories
This will be a long process, but we will be adding Multiplayer/Team sub categories to the boards. What does this mean? Well for instance, instead of Just playing Bowling by yourself with one Mii, now you can play it with 4 Miis, or get three of your friends and bowl together, combine your points, there is your score. As you'll see towards the bottom, we are making some major changes with the Category Extension boards, and I am sure in the coming months a lot of the new mulitplayer ideas will be on there as well.
Canoeing ILs
Speaking of the Category Extension Boards, last month we added the Swordplay Showdown ILs to the boards, and now we are going to add Canoeing to the boards as well! Now you can see if PAL is truly faster, by running Beginner, Intermediate, or Expert. We suggest 100m, but if you want to be a ten, be a ten.
Overhaul of the Wii Sports Resort Category Extension Board
This one is a biggy. the CE boards are going to get a complete makeover in the coming weeks. We are moving all of the IL based runs to the actual IL boards, and making way for some fun and exciting categories to be on the CE boards. What categories you may ask? Well we are going to keep those a secret till we get them all setup, so you'll just have to tune in and find out.
Speaking of categories, if you have any fancy or wacky ideas for the new Category Extension boards. Make a run of it and submit it down below! We are always looking for ways to make Wii Sports Resort fun for all.

Good evening everyone. Cmdr here for the moderator team at the Wii Sports Resort leaderboards. We apologize for the lateness in the rules package changes for June, and we thank you for your patience.
This month we tackled some pretty important topics that had a chance to really shake up a lot of the categories. I'll go through them all here.
First thing is first, we are going to overhaul the category extensions leaderboards. This will be finished by Sunday, July 1st. Please be paitent with us at this time.
Our first new category is:
Swordplay Showdown ILs
From popular demand, we are going to have Swordplay Showdown IL's on the Category extensions leaderboards. These will be under the "Individual Levels" tab. Timing will begin on selecting the level, and end on the last swing. to 100% the level. If you choose to use a full Swordplay Showdown run, and use a individual level from in the middle of the run, timing begins after getting 100% on the previous level. Yes, that is a pretty massive penalty. The rules are free to change once we get our science guy to check timing. But for now, timing begins after getting 100% on the previous level.
This was controversial, but I believe it is better for the WSR as a whole:
All Courses Golf and All Courses Frisbee Golf changes to 18 holes + Special
This means timing will begin when selecting "Eighteen Holes" and ends when making it in the 21st hole (3rd hole of special). Doing all of the 3 holes was smart in theory, but led to a un-enjoyable run. This does mean if you can use your time for the Special holes on the CE leaderboards.
Lastly, for the betterment of the community:
Wii Sports Club has been added to the Wii Sports Series Discord
This will be official about Thursday, June 28th at 12:00am. With the additions of GhostT, Alaskaxp2, Gameland, and Wipeoutjack, we feel like Wii Sports Club can solidly be in the Wii Sports Series Discord, without it being completely useless. This does mean that we are adding a new mod to the mod team. So welcome Wipeoutjack7!
Here are somethings that we considered, but overall axed:
Multiple players being used in All Sports/All Categories/Cycling runs
The strats found by Tendog, although could shave over 5 seconds of Cycling and Canoeing each, was voted to not be allowed. My personal reason, and I think something that the mod team would share with me, is that this gives a really big advantage to those with the money to afford 4 Wii Remotes with Wii Motion Plus (used, that is at least $80, new that is almost $200). This is something that we may bring up later, but I feel like not for the foreseeable future.
Scoreboard for Power Cruising
This is something that again we all seemed to agree shouldn't be added. If SRC gets a high scores site for itself, this is something that probably will be added immediately. However with the current leaderboard setup, will not be added at this time.

We also want to wish Cmdr, Plyd, Alaska, Wipeout, Bandow, Jimmy, realim, Tendog, Tyler, Gameland, and Prax good luck as they all will be participating in the speedrunning marathon, ResortFest International 2018. These runs will take place July 13th-July 15th, raising money for the Flint Water Crisis. Cmdr, Plyd, Alaska, Bandow, Tendog, Tyler, Gameland, and Prax will be doing Wii Sports Series runs, so go out cheer them on.

Greetings everyone. I hope everyone's classes went well and are excited for summer. Just some more housekeeping things and announcements to launch you into June.
Cycling - 2 player has been added.
You would have seen this last week, but after finally getting a run, we have 2 player cycling on the boards. You have to bring a friend, otherwise you are just alone like normal.
Swordplay Showdown has been revamped.
Thanks to Count, we now have some new Swordplay Showdown shenanigans. You can do the Normal 10 Stages, Reverse 10 Stages, and full 20 Stage runs. My suggestion if you plan to do a 20 stage run, and use your reverse stages, is to have an extra split for menuing between the front 10 and back 10. If there is enough support, we may added IL levels of each Swordplay Showdown to the Category Extension leaderboards.
Friendly reminder when you submit runs, please don't use decimals in your submission time unless it is In-Game Time, Score Attack, or the rest of the runs have decimals. (Example: I don't want to see decimals in the All Sports, triggers my OCD.)

Hello everyone! On behalf of the mod team, here are our new rules and new categories for the month of April!
I do want to ask for any of the categories revolving around time, please do not add milliseconds unless it is IGT (Such as Cycling and Quack%). It helps keep the leaderboards looking clean. Once categories start getting close, then milliseconds will come in handy, but one or two times with milliseconds out of 25 looks like me my 7th grade year at the homecoming dance, awkward.
Rule Changes: Cycling can now be two players! Same leaderboards. Drag a friend through a lifetime of sadness.
New Categories: We are reapproving 2500 and adding 1000 to it. These will be IL on the main leaderboard We are reapproving All Stamps. These will also be IL on the main leaderboard Approved points-based sport like Archery (All 3 Difficulties), Return Challenge Table Tennis, Bowling (All 3), 3-Point Basketball, Wakeboarding (All 3 Difficulties), Frisbee Dog, Golf, Frisbee Golf. Depending on how certain sports go, we will add them in due time, but if everyone can make it out, we probably won't add said sport.
If you have already done some of these runs, send them my way on Discord, and I'll work on adding them between my editing runs.

Hello, my name is Cmdr, I was just offering my help on the game. I know SonicSam has offered help in adding IL leaderboards to this game for the different events, and I am going to offer my help as well. I don't see any reason not to include them. I have experience on different games, most notably one of the moderators for the Wii Sports Resort leaderboards. Even if the moderation is temporarily, I'd love to help out and add the IL categories for this leaderboards.
