Myself and few others have been talking about doing a run of this game that doesn't abuse the magic carpet and forces a lot of overworld movement on foot and boat. Is this something anyone would be interested in having a route for?
trinsic as normal, get gold ring get hammer get hourglass and thread from paws start fellowship quest from batlin get spellbook + reagents, buy telekensis+unlock magic talk to lord british for boat deed boat is in Vesper, moongate TOP run to cove, get 4blackrock+rudyom's wand from Cove, moongate Bottom Right to Minoc, Run to Vesper ride boat to (black gate key?, 4 glass sword+2 invis rings secret?, ethereal ring?) boat to pneumbra, enchant ring boat to first prism dungeon (forced lightning damage) boat to ambrosia, get cadellite chunk boat to Yew, talk to nicodemus, enchant hourglass, MoonGate BottomRight to Minoc. Turn in fellowship quest by mill, make cadellite helmet, cast help start 2nd fellowship quest? Run(or trinsic moongate?) to cave entrance, check chest, cast help talk to Batlin - ceremony? walk to second prism dungeon, run out of dungeon. run back to Yew and get boat. Boat to Fellowship Camp Island Complete 3rd prism dungeon (need to be invisible to avoid magic damage) Boat to Isle of Avatar, open gates with Black Gate key (dont get spooked by laughter) Run through to black gate room, kill Hook, place 3 prism, use Rudyom wand on Black Gate.
i forgot the 1st fellowship quest turns in at Minoc (not Yew) i'll edit the above post as i think about it.
the route above is rough as hell. need to try to compare times between boating and using moongates.
not considering mark and recall to avoid mana/reagents and buying the spells from Rudyom
i managed a no flying carpet run, but i got stuck under the stone harpy and had to load and paused my timer until i got back to where i was. not gonna submit it til it's a proper single segment though.
Oh this is awesome! thanks for the replies and also even a run of it! That is amazing!
I'm absolutely going to try and run this route soon! thanks again!
