Hey Thursday, what about adding the IL leaderboard for PoN like you did it for Enter the Matrix? :-)
I'm interested in speedrunning some levels in the future.
Hey, I'm the random guy that commented on your run on Youtube.
Looking at the IL rules it seems like I'll need to redo Burly Brawl. I was timing from either pressing yes on the retry screen or on the final button press of the upgrade screen prior to level load, then timing the end from when player control ended (in the case of this level, an in-game cutscene).
But hey, that's what I get for starting to run IL before reading any set rules.
Well to be fair I just copied over the rules from the enter the Matrix thread without thinking about how different the two games were. That actually sounds completely fine for me. Only thing I can think of are some of the earlier levels you can simply hold space bar to skip the upgrade screen making it somewhat annoying to run ILs in succession with one another if you want to use a timer lol. But all levels appear to have a loading screen just after the upgrade screen anyway so verifying runs from that point would be just as easy. Ill change the rules to correct the oversight when I wake up tomorrow :D
Something like "Timing starts upon confirming upgrades and ends when loss of character control occurs" or something like that should work for all levels.
- starting the timer from the first frame of the cutscene (NOT the loading screen) OR in case of no cutscene the moment you take control your character
AND:
- stopping the timer on the final loading screen
...is the most reliable way to count IL timers accurately across PC/PS2/Xbox afaik. This is compatible with both the upgrade screen and the retry screen
