capped off the week of relatively better attempts after coming back from the holidays with this run that finally broke through the 55 min barrier. i think i can squeeze in a low-mid or even sub 54 at some point, as there's a bunch of areas that ask for smoother execution, however, i am glad i got to keep my composure in the latter portion as i started to get nervous and fumble here and there coming out of world 5.
it was a fun surprise during the bowser fanfare when i already fully accepted that the final time was probably going to be a 55:0X but then my splits showed that it's comfortably sub 55
