I feel the time in game should not be the exact time on speedrun.com, using methods like frame by frame timing or making a auto-splitter should make all the times more exact. This is however just a suggestion, but I would like to see a reply from some moderators.
Frame by frame timing: Is this per frame in the video or per frame in the game? Either way, it can be exploited. If it's frame by frame of the game, the type of lag you experience on Google Chrome is just skipping frames where things are still happening. If you mean frame by frame in a video, it still wouldn't be hard to cheat. This also implies recording video footage, which can easily cause the game to lag, which makes it more PC-based than skill-based.
Auto-splitter: Who would make it? Would it account for lag? For full game runs, would it time out menu/loading times?
I agree that the system isn't perfect by any means, heck, there isn't anything on the mission summary screen proving what map you just played. But I really don't see any good solution that would keep it fair for as many people as possible.
Understandable, I see frame by frame timing in other games like Roblox, which works out fine. Personaly I play the Steam version which can be modified to have less lag. Accounting for lag would be another issue to however. Thank you for the reply!
Most of the runs on this board are from the Flash version which was released a few years ago. Since flash isn't the best game platform for this kind of game, it has a relatively large lag problem for most players. And it gets quite a bit worse when recording.
