So I have a cool category in mind to share to the community. It's called "Bowser Stages"
You enter the Bowser In The Dark World Stage by either just walking into it while in the castle or if your playing on Usamune, you can use the level select If your using a normal cartridge/ROM, you can use the 120 Star File Code to unlock everything. Exit Course is Allowed Once you beat Dark World, you can head through the 8 Star Door and get to Fire Sea. After that, you can just re-enter the stage and exit course to save time. Move your way up through the castle to get to the last stage.
Timing Starts the first frame you can see everything after entering Dark World Timing ends is the same as the main category Ends the frame you touch the big star in BitS
Let me know what you think about it lol.
This category compared to 0 Star
- No SBLJ (No point to do this because you can easily mess up)
- No Intro -No Stair BLJs (Can save time)
- No LBLJ
- No Lakitu Skip
This category could also potentially improve castle movement a little bit.but really because you wouldn't use this type of movement in real runs obviously as 0,1, and 16 Star all require Stair BLJs.
It's pretty much the same as 0 and 1 star
Ah man But if your being serious, if someone got WR It probably be like 3-4 minutes that's faster than the TAS World Record and the TAS is impossible for a human so therefore this category is not the same as 0 and 1 star as it doesn't include the key strats that hold together 0 and 1 star and make those 2 categories possible.
I'll make an example run rn This category isn't really boring if you ask me, the competition would be really good. It's short and fun. This category should have been in CE when CE was added like seriously lol. Heres the Example Run I ended at BitS but you get my point
@Mruns_05 This is not wasting my time. I don't know what's wrong with this category. They've added 10x Cannonless so it's like wtf up to this point
Ok man whateves, I do run main categories If you have no reason than It's ok Also I'm not getting mad lmao.
i think the real question is why are you asking for new ce's on mainboards
We actually do have a "Bowser stages" category just like this one on the "Stage RTA" section of our button challenge leaderboards, so I do agree that the category makes sense. Even though the category is particularly unique in those challenges because 0, 1, and 16 star literally don't exist there, I do like the idea of a movement-based Bowser stage category (where movement optimizations aren't outshined by getting the BLJs quickly) in parallel to the Stage RTA concept. To bring this category optimally in line with Stage RTA, the red coin stars would have to be required, separating the category further from 0 and 1 star.
C’mon everyone, let’s not argue over this! I think XahKai’s idea is great! It’ll be a fun category to optimise. All the BLJs, all the movement, Bowser fights and whatnot. We could even do “Bowser Stages 100%” where we collect the red coin stars for each Bowser level.
a problem is that since its such a short category it would get too optimized too quickly
@IwerSonsch, I was thinking that exactly, They're should make a category seperating called Red Coins and than No Red Coins, if this is such a short category than more Non-RTA Strats can be implemented. Think of Super Mario Bros 1, it's one of the most optimal speed games as the times on the leaderboards are seperated with less than a second. Super Mario 64 is heavily based on good movement, it's easy to make mistakes. Like this category, it's nearly impossible to get everything perfectly. There is always room for improvement as even if this did get optimized too quickly, we still wouldn't have a perfect run, only the TAS can demonstrate that. My point is that regardless of the quick optimizations, the runs will still be beatable.
We would like to announce that VC and EMU subcategories are now active on the Stage RTA leaderboards (under "Levels"). Stage RTA involves collecting all the stars in a given stage including the 100 coin star. Timing starts on star select and ends upon collecting the final star. You are allowed to us
