How should we go about showing this screen?
Most of the runs I've seen (on the Level Leaderboards) either don't show this screen at all or it's shown at some point during the actual race. Is this even a requirement anymore?
This rule is relatively recent. So a lot of Level runs were grandfathered in, but new submitted runs would require you to show your cars configuration in the submission video un-edited.
Okay, but doing so would mean that you'd have to show this at the main menu before starting the free-run which could lead to hours of footage just to get 1 good lap. I have no problem with that, but nearly every recent run (16/18, excluding pending submissions) uploaded here just shows the 1 lap followed by a pause at end to show the settings screen.
So my question now - is pausing the screen at the end of the hot lap allowed now or would these runs be rejected for "pausing during level runs isn’t allowed as a splicing precaution" ?
You can check my own recent verified runs to see how I handle this. I typically just pause the game to show the settings menu after my get a PB lap.
There was a situation where I got 2 PBs in two consecutive laps. The 1st PB I paused right after the second lap started to show stats, but that second PB was denied since I paused during that lap to show the previous lap's PB the stats. In this case, it'd probably be best to just wait to see if your next lap after your PB isn't going to be on PB pace before pausing to show your config.
