Just making this thread to detail some recent (and less recent) board updates. 

As you all may have noticed, mini has separated difficulties, European Extreme, Normal & Very Easy are their own sub categories. Extreme, Hard & Easy have been added to misc. 

~~Along with this, there’s been two new variables added. One for NG or NG+.~~ Update as of October 2nd 2019, NG & NG+ have been split into sub categories. This was the popular consensus of the majority of active runners. If you load a clear file you’re run is “NG+” if you start from New Game, your run is new game. In addition, a Loading Trick variable has been added. Similarly, if you used Loading Trick at any point in your run, you will select “yes” and if not, “no”. It’s not mandatory, but when running on PS3, if you can show a soft reset in your vod if selecting “no”, it would be appreciated. 

Furthermore, the rules have been updated and fleshed out a bit. Nothing new has really been changed regarding what’s allowed & not allowed, more or less just putting them on paper so to speak. 

Platforms have also been set to obsolete each other. Mainly the reason for this is if someone decided to run PS2 and PS3 for example, there won’t be a bunch of runs with different times on display. To see these runs, you can use the “show obsolete run” filter. Just makes things look a bit better. This will show your *fastest* run, rather than every submission you made. 

This does not affect any current runs on the board, however emulator (PCSX2 & RPCS3) have been **banned**. Previously, they were allowed but hidden by default. Due to several emulation inaccuracies and RPCS3 being largely unusable by most people, Mini & I agreed the best COA was to ban its use for now. You can run on the emulator if you wish, but any emu submissions will be rejected. This goes for Citra emulator (3DS) also. 

Lastly, In Game Time has been set as the default timing method. When submitting runs, please fill in the “In Game Time” section. For the moment, we’ll just ignore “time” meaning, RTA. You can of course run a timer in conjunction with your run, but don’t submit your RTA. 

If there are changes you’d like to see that would improve your running experience of MGS3 or indeed, if anything gets added/adjusted in future, mini or I will post it here.
