While trying to find a hack of this game, every website I find it in list it as a .rar file. However, the web patcher that the guide sends me to doesn't support the .rar format, so every time I try to patch my MK64 Rom, an error message stating "Unknown Patch Format" appears. However, I don't know how to convert my .rar file into a format that the patcher actually supports. What's even stranger is that while looking up tutorials that hopefully be more in-depth, I found one that had a download link to an already patched file, even that one was the 2.0 version. What the heck should I do? Should I use the file even though it's outdated? Is there a way to solve my predicament? Any help would be appreciated.
Well, I don't know why you don't get an error. Try to download the files from "resources" that I put the files there and it works for me on PC. try that and you will tell me if on mobile too.
I want to play it on my PC. I was getting desperate so I went for a tutorial meant for mobile since I thought that would at least give me a bit of a clue what to do. I actually already downloaded the files from the Resources tab too and the same things happened.
Quick question: is it okay for me to use the already patched file even though it's not 2.1? I actually already tried using it and it seems to work fine. Are there any differences between version that make the game harder to run?
P.S.: Sorry for the multitude of questions. I'm really new to ROM hacks.
maybe in mobile it is more difficult than in pc. supposedly the differences between versions are the same but only the circuits change. I'm going to see if I can put the file in .n64 or .z64 format so that you don't have any problems.

While it does make actually applying the patch easier (which definitely is appreciated), it doesn't fix the fact that I can't patch the game using the .rar file that's listed in Resources.
I still thank you for bringing my knowledge to FLIPS, since it definitely will help me in the future, it's just that it doesn't really solve the issue at hand.
if it does not allow you to patch the game, you will use the wrong version. i think with .n64 you can't patch it. Have you tried doing it with .z64?

Found this in my confusion, but have figured it out. The .rar needs to be extracted with winrar or whatever. Been a million years and totally forgot that was a thing. Windows kept suggesting VLC to open it which of course didn't work. So inside should be a .bps. The .z64+.bps can be patched together.
