The Joyful Route

I thought I wold post this here, and if it needs to be moved to the guides it can be. Movement tech is basically nonexistant, because I'm awful at explaining it.

Anyway here's the route-

¤A quick note on saving- Save when you need/want to as long as the save point is close. The less saves the better. You also don't have to rest any except for the story points.

Start game and start timer together.

Continue the intro as normal.

Mash through the brad fight, if health gets too low heal but other wise just stab as fast as possible.

After the chat with Buzzo go into the options and turn text to instant and battle animations off.

Continue as normal, remember to sprint right away!

In the cave with Rando tell him you don't trust him just yet. This lets you run with Buddy and she keeps the mask off which makes the text before the gang fight shorter.

For the gang fight take joy on Rando and give Buddy Randos belt buckle before starting the text and focus everyone but the guy in the middle since he always does 0 damage. Have Rando do WAWAs, Buddy do stabs. Heal if needed, if Buddy goes down reset since she needs the level up.

Continue as normal until you get control of Rando. Rando can use the sprint button to crawl much faster. After you gain control of Buddy again do not rest at the camp fire to save some time.

Put the mask on. Go into Lardy's area. If you have the mask on the first man won't jump onto you, skipping a fight. The fights until Lardy have Rando make someone burning and have Buddy stab, if Joy runs out take one. Try to always keep Rando on Joy until Mr Beatuiful's area. After the truck scene take off the mask.

Lardy should be straightforward. If Rando needs MP use a Rando Ration on him. Stabs and fireballs for the Lardy fight. When he switches phases make sure he is burning again. After the fight the mask stays off for the rest of the game.

Mash through the cutscene and head into Van Dam's area. Fireballs and stabs are still the way to go for combat with the mutants. Heal when needed but hopefully you won't have to much.

In Van Dam's cliffy area be careful not to run off of any cliffs. Do the jumping execute at the man shooting bottles. Go above Johnny Walrus and his friend skipping them. A quick stab takes care of the drunk guy on the ground. Continue on to Van Dam.

Before going into Van Dam's building make sure the mask is off,Rando is on Joy and has full health/mana. Kill Van Dams guards one at a time, order doesn't matter too much I think they both have fall/stun skills. When Van Dam is alone have Buddy flash him to keep him flustered and Rando hitting him with fireballs.

After the fight mash through the text/cutscene and head to Mr Beautifuls area. Don't fight anyone you don't have to. For the Joy Mutant the same combo of joy stabs and fireballs/machine gun punches until it goes down. Same for Mr Beautiful just make sure he's burning after every phase switch.

Mash through the text/cutscenes. When Rando abandons you turn battle animations back on. Skip Chester. During the fight try to land Buddy's qte skills like decisive stab, these auto crit and can cause bleeding when done right. Head to the next area but stop at the cliff where you drop Rando and jump down. Behind the rock are 3 diesel firebombs so grab those and climb back up.

Drop into Sindy's area first. The arrows don't do much damage so don't worry about getting hit as long as you went in with almost full health. Grab the Lucrative Tea (the closest floor item before the Katana) and grab the Katana near the bottom. Take Joy before fighting the Joy mutant and make sure to land decisive stabs/throat lunges.

When fighting the archers use the three diesel firebombs and decisive stabs/throat lunges on any left. For Sindy keep your health above 1000 and go for throat lunges.

After Sindy head to Dice Mahones area, take some joy when going in. You can do a jumping execute on the man on the chair when heading to Dice, which saves time from righting him and gives Buddy exp. Don't go into any houses and keep heading right. If you can land joyed throat lunges on the normal fights up to dice they should be one/two turns but this depends on Buddy's TP at the start of fights.

For Dice treat him like any other joy mutant. Go for throat lunges, keep your health around 1000 and when Dice is dead you should learn Mend. After Dice is dead head to Big Lincolns area and the cutscene with Rando.

There should be some joy on the ground before the scene with Rando. Skip the scene with Rando by going along the bottom path.

In Big Ls area try to stay on joy for the fights. If you can land throat lunges/do the fights quick you should have to only use joy per two fights if that. Take Joy before fighting Big L.

The Big Lincoln fight is tough and takes a while. Make sure to stay above 1000 HP, use mend/jerky/rando rations if you are on joy or joy if you need the status effect again. Go for throat lunges/stabs to get TP. When Big L switches phases make sure to get him bleeding again right away. When Big L is dead head left to confront Yado. There is some joy on the ground before confronting him and Sweetheart. Take Joy before fighting Sweetheart.

When Yado sicks Sweetheart on you go for the throat! Keep throat lunges up and keep your health above 1000. Fight Sweetheart until Buzzo shows up. Start the Yado fight. The first phase go for throat lunges/decisive stabs. Yado doesn't do much during the first phase so feel free to be aggressive. During the second phase take some joy and go for the big throat lunge crits. Keep your health above 1000 at all times from now on. The third phase mostly just has a lot of health so keep the joy throat lunge crits and bleed going.

The fourth phase with Brad is a bit different. Brad will never attack you but if you have any joy left take one. Each phase has around 5000 health and joy throat lunge crits can usually do them in 1 turn. After this fight grab the vaccine and confront Yado. Mash through the dialogue. If you need to use your lucrative tea do so.

For the Buzzo fight if you're still overjoyed damage him with any skill you can depending on Buddys TP. If not take Joy. When the Buzzo fight goes into phase two hope he damages himself while doing damage yourself. After the fight mash through the text and leave them since it's the first option.

Wait through the credits and then mash through the black screen text. Stop time when you're back on the main menu. Congratulations you've speedran Lisa: The Joyful!

One difference I've been trying is Lucrative Tea. Since you get a ton of money/exp if you kill the shopkeeper at the beginning of the game, you can affford to buy tons of tea, which makes the boss kills less of a TP grindfest.

Also I Joy Rando on the Van Dam fight so his Machine Gun Fist fully crits.

Also also I remember you having an issue with the timing ending on leave them, and I agree, we time it on final input in Painful so there's no reason to do it differently in Joyful, I'll change the rules and upload a correctly timed run soon enough to compare to.
