Hello, I wanted to ask : why does the Lego Harry Potter speedrunning Discord server require people to verify their phone number before being able to participate ? I'm not necessarily asking for this to change btw, although I generally prefer to not give my phone number online when I can avoid it - I am just asking a genuine question, as this level of security doesn't seem that necessary to me for such a small community.

We've had issues with banned members trying to circumvent bans by creating alt accounts in the past. The phone number verification exists to make it harder for people to do that.
