Hey i wanna try speedrunning the game but i don't have 16 hours in a day i can dedicate to a run so i wanna split it. What are the rules for that and well just how do i not break the rules. Idk im entirely new to speedrunning minus watching some old darkviperAU GTA runs and barely understand what "A single attempt" means and would like some more details. Thanks!

It cannot be pieced together from multiple different run attempts. It must be the same savefile and all. You can take breaks however often as you want, unlike the GTA games.

Hi! The "single attempt" language appearing in the 100% rules refers to the run being submitted being all part of the same single playthrough. What is not being permitted is submitting a run combining segments from different attempts.

For example, if you did 3 runs and submitted videos that include the first third of the first run, the second third of the second run, and the final third of the third run, that would be rejected. The submission needs to be all from the same run or "single attempt."

I should note that this language is not in the Any% rules which are expected to be done without any breaks or stopping the timer.

so just to make sure i understand. as long as its the same save file then I'm good. SO i can do a run over 2 or so days. Just sync timer. or smth on video? i wanna make sure i get it right. Also i only intend to run 100% no dlc for now since it seems like a thing that's actually achievable with my current skills rn!
