Hey there

I would like to discuss the timing rules for the game before I make the Any% category. I'm sure we all agree that timing ends on the black screen after losing the fight. However the start timing of the run needs some discussion in my opinion. As I currently see it, there are 3 ways to approach the start timing.

1. The good old fashioned start new game and count the boat intro into the time

2. Set up the split timer so that you always watch the intro but it only starts after you gain actual control of Senua

3. This was my original idea and it might not be the purest idea but if a lot of people get interested and it becomes reset intensive, this could be a very practical and fair approach for everyone. The idea is to start the run from the auto save after the boat section is played out. Timing would start after gaining control (copy/pasting your save into the correct folder if you were needing to reset).

The save is easily accessible from C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\HellbladeGame\Saved\SaveGames and they can all be exchanged between people (I can even put up a save file everyone can use on the resources page)

i like your idea but how we will deal with ps4 user?

As a primarily RPG speedrunner, it seems weird to me to skip the intro, but I do understand the argument. I'm just very used to sitting through random long cutscenes. I personally will just be playing out the intro every time anyways so I'll probably fall under option 2. I'm personally fine with people doing either 2 or 3 depending on how they feel about playing the game. I don't see there being much actual difference between doing either of them since it's more or less the same starting position.

PS4 players can also make a save after the boat, then just back it up onto a usb and copy it back over, and im for skipping the intro cutscene, theres plenty of cutscenes in this game as it is.

Thanks Thrill for fast run veryfing. I see you subtracted intro from my total time (~7min). It's time for us to make final timing rule.

Timer starts when you gain full control of Senua (for better timing just quit and continue game).

Timer ends when blackscreen after death appears.
