Card% - Intros and Card Locations

Welcome the first Goosebumps guide.  This will be a short overview of the game, its limited mechanics, and the locations of the cards.  The full walkthrough you can google, or I'll write a more detailed one to be submitted soon.

So getting started with goosebumps, I personally run it on a Windows 98 Virtual Machine.  You can of course run this in whatever way you want, but I prefer to virtualize it.  You'll always start with Disc 1 in the PC, and you'll have to switch to Disc 2 to continue to Vampire Village, so have it ready.

Once you get into the game the intro sequence will start, as soon as you click or hit space you'll "gain control".  This is the start of the run, Lizzie will give her little line you'll hear too many times "No way, no possible way...".  From here you can turn in a full 360 by moving your mouse to the edge of the screen, you can click pieces of the background or doorways to move about, and hit space to skip transitions.  The annoying part with hitting space in goosebumps is that if there is any kind of sound effect playing, you'll have to wait until the sound effect is fully over before it'll let you move.

Now for Card% itself, there are 10 cards in Goosebumps: Escape from Horrorland all in different locations, and I'll shortly describe in order how to get each one.

Card #1:
In the Werewolf's house.  You can get here by first heading to the cafe, or butcher's shop, grabbing a cockroach or a slab of meat respectively.  From there go to the Werewolf's house in the center of town, and feed his man eating plant one of the items you've grabbed.  Once inside enter the first door you see which is his bedroom.  Click on the bed, and you have your first card.

Card #2:
Outside in Werewolf Village, head over to the stocks and you'll find Luke and Clay.  Turn about opposite of them and you'll see a trashcan on the lower half of the screen.  If you click the trashcan you'll find a card laying on the ground beside it.

Card #3:
Head into Horrorland Plaza by going down the path to the left of the stocks.  When you get to the other side you'll see a cinema, click on the ticketing booth to find yourself another card.

Card #4:
After solving the scarecrow's annoying pumpkin puzzle, he'll open the way to the bat barn.  Once inside the bat barn bats will swarm the place and you'll have to click around to find a door.  After finding a door the lights will click on, look around until you see a trashcan.  Click the can, and you'll find another card laying on the ground.

Card #5:
Enter the crypt and solve Indiana Jones' puzzle to find the three tombs.  In one of the three tombs is another card.  You can actually be a tomb raider.

Card #6:
Kill the most annoying boss in the world, (the mummy) and leave the room you fought him in to find yourself back in the hallway with the pillar puzzle.  Open the door immediately in front you and you'll see a bucket.  Click the bucket and you'll see another card.

Card #7:
By the gates to Dracula's castle, if you turn left you'll find of all things, an ATM on the wall.  If you click the ATM and the cover over the display, you'll find yet another card.

Card #8:
Dance with Dracula, check all of his pockets.  It doesn't matter which one you click, each iteration always gives the same item, just don't miss it!

Card #9:
After the coffin ride, you'll find yourself outside of a building with the power missing, click the top left part of the building to find another card.

Card #10:
Almost there! When you take the elevator before the final boss, after leaving the arena, a card will be in the elevator shaft in the left window.

Collect all of those cards and beat the game as fast as you can, that's the category.  You'll find there is some RNG with the sound effects halting your travel, the mummy fight (good God), and your skills at simon says.  The whole run starts when you get control of the cursor, and ends when you see the results screen at the very end.  You can skip all cut scenes, including the final two.

Runner beware, you're in for a scare.

How to not need to actually switch discs (Hard disk install guide)

Alright, this should keep things nice and easy. If there's anything you don't know how to do, let me know.

1. Make a directory/folder somewhere - say, C:\hlandcd or something. We'll call this the Installation Directory.
2. Insert Disc 1, then bring up the Disc 1 files.
3. Make sure you are showing all hidden files and folders. If you're using Windows 98, open an Explorer window, then go View -> Folder Options... -> "View" tab, then under "Hidden files" select "Show all files", click "Apply", then click "Like Current Folder", hit "Yes" with what pops up, then click "OK".
4. Copy all files from Disc 1 to the Installation Directory.
5. Switch to Disc 2, then bring up the Disc 2 files.
6. Copy all files from Disc 2 to the Installation Directory. You will be asked if you want to overwrite data\index.mdi . I'd click "Yes To All" or "Yes" here, but the file is actually identical on both discs.
7. Remove Disc 2 from the drive, then run Setup.exe from the Installation Directory. Go through the installer and find a place to install it that isn't your Installation Directory.
8. Now try playing the game.

Note that it will tell you to switch to Disc 2 when it normally would, but pressing Enter will let you continue without delay, and without having to actually switch discs.
