Timed without loads on console; is it possible?

With Final Fantasy 15's release getting closer and closer, I've been exploring some possibilities for what we could do to address some of the issues of large variance between the slowest and fastest platform. I have seen some games before that use timed without loads as their standard and I wondered if something like this would be possible for a console game, or if this is only something that can work on PC games? If this were possible, I feel the ideal way to handle it would be the timer would stop during any moment that the game won't accept any input from your controller. The timer would run during a skippable cutscene though, for example. Is this something that is possible?

Manually timing out loads is something that can be done, though not very common due to the tedium of having to time every load. Billy Hatcher does this so it can compare between GC and PC. http://www.speedrun.com/bh

Ah, so doing it manually is likely the only way. That's unfortunate :(. With that said, it's probably something that would be too much work.

Not for consoles, no, not automatically. At least not for some time until there's progress on video/audio reading.

Manual load removal is work, but doing things the right way is important.

Not subtracting load times is just lazy.

Sorry for the late response. I feel that timed without loads will be the best thing for Final Fantasy 15, but it seems that it would likely have to be a manual process which would be a huge load on people or moderators to take care of as the run will be at least a few hours. While it is something I would prefer a lot, not sure if it's possible. If anything is ever found that can make it possible I would be very ecstatic.

IGT is generally inaccurate in the Final Fantasy series, but in the event it was accurate for 15 that would be a good option.

Whether or not other Final Fantasy games do it has no relevance to what is decided upon for 15. For some games, it's more of a comparison of wallets than actual competitions, so that is what I am trying to see if we can get away from. I was just simply asking how possible something was from a technical stand point as I don't know anything about how people set their splits up to factor out loads. Obviously if it has to be done manually then it probably will just not be done at all, and my hope is that IGT will be accurate if that is the case.
