I could not find any speed runs for the game anywhere so I figured I would post something about it to see if I could get anyone else to try it. here is the link if anyone wants to try it https://2020game.io/

I tried it, it's a pretty cute game. It takes like 4 minutes to complete though, so this wouldn't be a very good game in terms of optimizing for a speedrun.

There are a couple of runs on YouTube, you could make a GoogleSheet leaderboard, pretty sure SRC won't accept this game.

I accidentally found a glitch where the quarantine didn't start and I could just walk out of the house without having to wait. I don't know what exactly triggered that glitch. I know for sure I didn't pick up all items in the supermarket and thought it might be linked to that. Also, the pile of toilet paper was not in the house. But trying to replicate the glitch was sadly without success. Maybe somebody else can find out more?

@Laika_the_Spacedog The code of the game isn't minified and is very well written, so it was easy to read and check the logic for things. What you described (no toilet papers in the house) means you somehow skipped the trigger that loads the house and the objects inside it. When you entered the house the quarantine process starts. But because there were no toilet papers/books, the quarantine process ends immediately.

Since it seems there is no possibility at all to skip any trigger or checkpoint, not sure how it happened to you. All the game data is loaded from an external site, so maybe something was temporarily broken there when you loaded the game.
