Hey there. Firstly I have to say I'm really new to speedrunning, but has for the last few years been watching Games Done Quick and all the amazing runs, I want to try my hand at it too. If anybody has any tips or tricks or recommendations I appreciate all the help I can get.

I am a variety gamer but often fall into a game that I just really don't want to stop playing, so I finally now decided why not give a shot at speedrunning them and get a new goal with the game, so here I am.

Well either way, pick a game you really really like. If you don't like the game you won't enjoy yourself. From there go on the speedrun.com and see if there is a Discord server where you can go and find people who run the game and try and prod them for more game centric info. If there isn't a discord you could post a forum post on that games forums and see if someone responds.
