I'd like it if the counted time starts after the load screen and ends upon the fade-to-black after the completion of the final objective, instead of using in-game time.
I noticed that the in-game timer ends when you hit the End Level button after the cutscene (tested by completing a fast level and leaving to cook lunch, which added 30 minutes to my time). This is encouraging a funny behavior where I try to rush to hit the button but if I fumble, I lose a second or two from having to select an award and then hit the button. I don't think it's in the spirit of the game to have this segment count for the leaderboard.
Hi GophTheGreat,
Thank you for your suggestion regarding the timing method. We understand your concerns about the in-game timer and the impact it has on the leaderboard. Switching the timing to start after the load screen and end upon the fade-to-black after the final objective is an interesting idea.
We'll take your feedback into consideration and discuss it with the moderation team to see if it's feasible to implement a more precise timing method. Our goal is to ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for all players, and your input helps us improve.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention!
This has been discussed and we decided to go through with it.
This means we need to go through all runs and add a RTA to the ones missing it though, so those without it are currently orphaned - don't worry, they will be back, but if we miss any feel free to resubmit them!
