DevilutionX better for ''glitchless" speedrun?

So basically DevX has fixed 99% of the bugs Diablo 1 has, thus it can become a real glitchless category unlike the current Vanilla one where you basically use anything else but duping. DevX ofc will have it's own separate category. I did try few runs before few months it's much much harder even for an Any% let alone a HC one. I like that. What do you guys think?

I'm worried because there are many options in DevX that can make the game easy or hard, Vanilla like or modernized, thus if this category is going to appear I think we should set rules for options.

Setting rules sounds good. Personally I'm a fan of exploiting vanilla D1. What does one need to start running DevilutionX?

Just wondering, does it fix all of the following exploits: horizontal-walking, south-walking, 4-tile, low HP mana shield?

South-walking is not fixed, but anything else is... like there are a lot of bugfixes that we didn't know were ''bugs'' so it playing quite different. After the first try on a Rogue it really is a fast Iron Man. Here you can see my vod if you are interested(I think I did best in the last 2 runs): In any way if I'm up to set-up a rules I think the setting should be as close to Vanilla as possible. If someone want to play on Fast, Faster, Fastest speed or with high resolution it can be considered a ''Modern'' category or something, idk really.

How useful is Fire Wall now? Seen in the changelog something about it got changed? Do the enemies avoid it (completely/partially)?

What I fear the most is the potential of some runs going without south-walking fix, and some (in the future, when it's fixed), with it. It's a crucial technique for physical speedrunning.

Yes, any monster without immunity to fire will avoid it at all cost (unless the monster is already in it an have nowhere to move). Basically you'll have to cast 3-4 times more FWs than before, with no duping of gold that seems too expensive for your limited resources.

I'll check the cheese scenarios for bows, sounds very promising. If cheese is slow and difficult to execute then it's fine for speedrunning purpose.

Firewall nerf is very exciting. It means that player will be able to create walls where (most) enemies can't reach.

Weird that south-walking isn't meant for fixing, but at least it means I have less to learn ;)

In The Hell 2 mod we've fixed south-walking, so it's possible. And I don't think it's "a core mechanics", it's a bug and hope it will be fixed one day in devX.

Tbh I always suspected it was possible but the DevX devx at some point clearly said they won't change it. Ofc they could change their mind any time, I love south-walking so it will be a shame if that happens

4-tile was caused by monsters using a ray cast from you to them to see if they could hit but alignment when shooting in the other direction wasn't symmetrical. That has been fixed.
