CO-OP ANY% GUIDE // Dead Island Definitive Ed.

This guide is NOT character specific, I will not be explaining what skills to level into because each character has skills that make them viable. This is a generic, all character viable guide :)
This guide references "Person A" and "Person B". This is just a way to distinguish tasks that can be completed at the same time, it does not mean you cannot switch which "person" you are with your co-op partner during the run, it's just easier to be specific than to be ambiguous.


GENERAL TIPS:
・If you’re playing Xian, level up into fury. Her fury tree has a movement speed upgrade, a very useful skill for quickly traversing long distances on foot
・If you’re playing Sam B, level up to the “Ram lvl3” skill. You can avoid breaking locked doors by simply running into them
・Enter cars from the roof while jumping for animation cancel
・Whenever a throwable is used (Molotov, Grenade), you should drop-dupe it if you only have 1x of that item
・To Jin-dupe / infinite throw setup in Co-op, all members who aren’t doing the setup must be paused or in menus or else it wont work!!!
・Whenever a suicide is asked for, ALL members must die at the same time
・I would always suggest watching a WR run before reading this guide. It would help you to understand a lot of the verbiage used here
・If not otherwise instructed or you get lost, just follow the waypoint on the main quest


Prologue
・Do it in single player - DO NOT START TIME YET


Act I
・Time starts when you talk to Sinamoi for the first time. All co-op members must be present
・Person A runs to grab the Key Card, Person B stays with Sinamoi
・Pick up Molotov next to eating zombies
・Go up to bungalow where the Key Card is located; kick clip around the back to grab the Key Card fast (LINK TUTORIAL)
・After Key Card is collected, Person A talks to Sinamoi, Person B press ‘b’ to teleport
・*OPTIONAL* Dupe Molotov so each member has one
・Travel along beach to lifeguard tower, can parkour up rocks to the left before the stairs
・Molotov the group at the garage, kill stragglers with paddle (Molotov Thug if first one doesn’t kill him too)
・Person A downstairs: Molotov through window inside Lifeguard Tower, paddle everyone else
・Person B upstairs: Molotov group upstairs, paddle everyone else, interact with radio
・Person A: Grab Dominics quest, run to the very first Hut on the left, grab Canned Food x2, meet Person A on the road and drive to Lighthouse
・Person B: Jump off roof, get Mikes quest, run straight to the Car that is crashed in the bungalow, pick up Person B and drive to Lighthouse Up stairs, get James quest
・Down stairs, get Darvins quest
・Person A: Drive to fuel station, smash window inside fuel station, grab Canned Food, kill Thug with Molotov, fill up Fuel Canister, drive to Marcus (A Ray of Hope), begin quest and wait for Person B to silence alarms, turn in quest to Marcus, drive to Lighthouse
・Person B: Drive to Juice Box fuel station, grab Juice Box x2, drive car to the Transformer Relays (don’t get too far away from the car or else the Boxes will disappear), silence alarms, drive to Lighthouse
・All members need to talk to Marcus
・Person A picks up Signal Amplifier while Person B moves Fuel Canister into the car with the Juice Boxes, all drive to Lifeguard Tower
・Fuel Canister to Mike, Juice Boxes into position in garage, hand in Dominics quest
・All members need to talk to Sinamoi
・Person A stays with Juice Boxes to avoid them de-spawning, Person B needs to hit a mandatory checkpoint which is located at the fuel station next to the Lighthouse
・Person A places Juice Boxes, Person B presses ‘b’ to teleport back, talk to Sinamoi
・Fast travel to Lighthouse, drive to Hotel
・Grab Alcohol at bar in Hotel
・Throw Molotov at Mike to skip his dialogue
・Person A talks to Ned and stays with him, Person B grabs Morphine, Person A talks to Ned
・Person A clears corridor, Person B crouches through window on the right and kills all zombies + Thug in the computer server rooms
・Person A talks to Mike and runs to first 2 computers, Person B waits and gets the far 2
・Run to Truck
・Drive Truck to Lifeguard Tower, talk to Sinamoi
・Fast travel to Lighthouse
・Reverse car off Lighthouse and drive down to the beach
・“SPASIBO, MY FRIENDS” (complete Nikolai's quest)
・Upgrade Machete fully, fast travel to Lifeguard Tower
・Take Truck to mechanic, complete that quest (Molotov zombies during the garage defend for speed reasons)
・Talk to Jin, drive to Moresby


Act II
・Molotov the Ram and zombies out the front of the Church
・Person A infinite-throw setup with Jin using Machete (OPTIONAL: everyone else does it too)
・Kill Ram and all zombies out the front with infinite throw
・Kill Thug same way
・Get quest from Helen
・Kill Bandits with infinite throw. Make sure to collect some Pistols while Antonio is walking to the computer
・Take the Car to each of the hydrants. Person A stay in car, Person B shuts hydrants
・Hand in Helen quest, get Joseph quest and escort him to the Sewer
・Fury to kill Floater
・Run through the rest (only one person needs to traverse, the others can teleport with “b” later)
・“YOU CAME THROUGH THE SEWERS” (talk to people in the Town Hall, progress main quest)
・Sprint through the left of the steam at Supermarket to take no damage
・Heal up before entering the supermarket, sprint to the right and run, Bandits don’t need to be killed to advance
・Kill Bandits with your Pistols after the hostage section. Swap Pistol for stronger ones (optional)
・Run through Sewer (only one person needed)
・Person A grabs Grenade from zombie on 2nd floor of Town Hall, grenade throw dupe to kill Mayor, grab keys
・Person B run to exit and waits for keys to be grabbed, and leaves
・Run through Sewer (only one person needed)
・Talk to Helen (OPTIONAL: Dupe Grenade so everyone has one)
・Talk to Joseph on stairs
・Enter Sewers through close entrance (where you just came from), don’t follow the waypoint
・Run through Sewer (only one person needed
・Discard and pickup fresh Pistol instead of reloading when fighting Bandits
・Grenade x2 in final room Police Station to kill everyone
・Person A talks to Helen, Person B waits by Jin and leaves
・Drive to Lifeguard Tower, talk to Sinamoi, upstairs and fast travel to Lighthouse, drive to Hotel and get to door
・Skip cutscene, back in car, drive to Lifeguard Tower
・Mike x2, Jin, drive to Jungle
・Person A: Jin Dupe with Grenades at escort and dupe TONS of Grenades for future use
・Person B: Infinite-throw setup with Machete for Jin escort


Act III
・Dialogue skip Jin by entering the car the INSTANT the cutscene ends
・Grenade kill zombies in riverbed
・Run ahead of Jin, killing zombies before she gets to them, but someone stay with her so she doesn’t Pepega 
・When the dialogue “LOOK ITS JIN” happens, suicide with Grenade on the opposite side of the road (so Jin doesn’t get hit) to skip dialogue
・Speak to Matutero
・Grenade quick kill Butcher or just run past
・Person A: Grab Crate and run to car (run by the waterfall to the left for safety strats, yolo down the middle otherwise)
・Person B: Kill Bandits in their way
・Put Crates x2 in car and drive back to Village
・Person A: Jin Dupe Auto Rifle quest reward, pick up and sell enough to upgrade Auto Rifle to max, Jin Dupe upgraded Rifle TONS (you need enough for all members for the rest of the game, “Inventory Capacity Glitch” using Alcohol and pick up all Auto Rifles
・Person B: Drive to Afran’s Bandit camp, parkour on car bonnet into gunmen camp to skip using the ladder to get in, activate checkpoint AFTER Person A has finished duping and collecting all Rifles as the cutscene will teleport them to you
・Kill Afran and leave on boat
・Talk to Matutero, talk to Mowen
・Take car up to Lab
・Person A: Talk to Bob and get his quest
・Person B: Talk to Will and get his quest
・All members need to be present for Bob’s quest, however, one person can jump backwards before the glass doors shut behind you
・Person A: Stay and complete Bob’s quest, once complete, run down to finish Will’s quest (all members must be present)
・Person B: Back-jump out of Bob’s quest and complete Will’s quest, use the car to travel, Grenade kill Ram, grab Fuse, restore Power (all members must be present)
・Drive back up to Lab, hand in both missions
・Drive to Ope’s arena, complete arena fight
・Throw Grenade where the boss will spawn as Ope says “it is a fight to the death” for a quick kill
・Fast travel to Lab
・Person A: Accept both quests, head to Warehouse and grab chemicals, deliver the chemicals
・Person B: Take car up to overrun Lab, collect samples, return to Lab
・Fast Travel to Ope’s Cave, escort Ope
・Run ahead and Grenade kill Thugs/groups before Ope gets there
・Enjoy his story and very, very thin loin cloth…
・OPTIONAL: Jin Dupe Auto Rifle or Grenades if you are at low supply
・Use Grenades to kill Floater/Thug/groups/Butcher
・During escape with Yermah, only bother killing the Infected (fast boi)
・Parkour down mountain to avoid death box to help Mowen
・Drive to Lab, Person A push Yermah all the way with car, Person B runs ahead and kills zombies before her scripted pauses
・Turn in quest, Fast Travel to Mowen’s Boat
・Person A: Run and collect Fuel from the fuel station, put fuel in back of the car, return to boat with fuel
・Person B: Run to pumping station and get car, drive to collect Mowen’s Things, return to boat and help with the fuel
・Person A: Stay at boat, place pipes, talk to Jin
・Person B: Run to mechanics and grab pipes
・Suicide as soon as cutscene is done to skip dialogue 
・Fast Travel up to Lab


Act IV
・OPTIONAL: Buy Large Medkits from vendor before Canteen, heal whenever injured
・Talk to Titus, go to cell block #1
・Person A: Run upstairs, talk to Alvaro, run down and turn off alarm, return and escort Alvaro
・Person B: Run to control room and unlock Alvaro’s cell, run up to Alvaro and escort
・Grenade Prison Guards
・Person A: Run right and collect keys from guard’s office
・Person B: Run left and speak with Kevin, speak again once keys are collected
・Person A: Run back to Titus
・Person B: Grenade into double doors as soon as they open, collect weapons for Titus, press ‘b’ to teleport
・Person A: Stay with Titus
・Person B: Clear out warehouse + kitchen
・Run past gunmen and undead along the ground
・Only 1 person do “Cell Block #2 Skip”, other press ‘b’ to teleport
・Suicide when Kevin’s dialogue starts in control room
・Only 1 person required to run to the end
・Run through Sewer, press ‘b’ to teleport
・RUN
・RUUUUUN
・Press ‘b’ to teleport
・On roof, kill guards + guards that come out of door & elevator
・Keep suiciding over and over after guards are killed to skip multiple dialogues
・Use Fury to kill Ryder 
・TIME when cutscene starts!!!

・Run through the rest

・Sprint through the left of the steam at Supermarket to take no damage
・Heal up before entering the supermarket, sprint to the right and run, don’t bother killing the Bandits

・Talk to Sinamoi, load checkpoint, travel to Lighthouse and drive to Hotel
・Skip cutscene, change quest to “Fiery Drinks”, load checkpoint
・Mike x2, Jin, drive to Jungle


ACT III
・Grenade x3 to kill zombies in riverbed
・Run ahead of Jin, killing zombies before she gets to them
・Speak to Matutero
・Grenade quick kill Butcher. If you miss, just run past
・Load checkpoint when you get to the bridge and the waypoint moves (to get full stamina/despawn the Butcher)
・Kill first two Bandits, grab Crate, walk left in the Waterfall to avoid all gunmen
・Put Crates x2 in car and drive back to Village
・“Jin Dupe” Auto Rifle quest reward x16. Sell all weapons but 1 (you need ~$21,200) 
・Upgrade Auto Rifle to max
・“Jin Dupe” upgraded Auto Rifle x~35 (or however much you will need for the rest of the game), “Inventory ・Capacity Glitch” using Alcohol and pick up all Auto Rifles
・Drive car to the Bandit camp gate, parkour on car bonnet into gunmen camp, run through 
・Kill Bandits if you are in danger of dying (optional)
・Run through water to skip the dock, Kill Afran with Grenade x2
・Talk with Matutero, go and collect Mowen
・Take car up to Lab
・Wait by Bob for his quest dialogue to start, run and talk to Will, go back and talk to Bob
・Do Will’s quest first. Use the car to travel
・Grenade kill Ram, grab Fuse
・Restore Power, change mission “Rats”, load checkpoint when “SPEAKER” has finished talking (“I repeat! They’re coming from everywhere!”)
・Do Bob’s quest then hand both missions in 
・Drive to Ope’s arena, complete arena fight
・Throw Grenade where the boss will spawn as Ope says “it is a fight to the death” for a quick kill
・Fast travel to Lab
・Frank -> Scientist in operating room
・Take car and complete Scientists quest
・Run down the mountain, complete Franks quest
・Fast Travel to Ope’s Cave, escort Ope
・Run ahead and Grenade kill Thugs/groups before Ope gets there
・“Jin Dupe” Auto Rifle if you are at low supply (optional)
・Use Grenades to kill Floater/Thug/groups/Butcher
・During escape with Yermah, only bother killing the Infected (fast boi)
・Parkour down mountain to avoid death box to help Mowen
・Drive to Lab, push Yermah all the way with car
・Turn in quest, Fast Travel to Mowen’s Boat
・Grab car at water station, use it to get Mowen’s Things and Fuel

・Run through Sewer
・Load checkpoint after going through double doors to stairs
・RUN
・Top of stairs, load checkpoint when objective moves

・On roof, run left and kill guards
・Grenade Thug that is in the way past the gate
・Use Fury to kill Ryder
