Radar% notes!

FLY NOTES:	To shut off combat (once), fly, Y x3, then X.  If you have to land, you can re-initiate it by doing a fly/land/fly, then doing Y x3, X.  (Entering buildings helps...somehow, not entirely sure just yet.)

RADAR:		When you use a restorative item on someone and they are full up (so the item won't get used), the cursor defaults back to where you left it, allowing you the option of re-selecting it (for the purposes of selecting another party member to heal).

HOWEVER, if you press Up/Down + A at the same time you are selecting the healing card, the cursor will "move" to the other item, but the "icon" will show the original item -- thus, the game attempts to use the original item (for our purposes, the Puar/Pool card), fails because it is used on someone who is at max Ki, and then the cursor defaults to the Dragon Radar.

By using the Dragon Radar, the game attempts to locate any nearby Dragon Balls, effectively putting you back on the map (although technically still on combat, so you can't use any Bubbles cards while you've Radar'd out of a fight).  This is why the Combat Music still plays, and the game is desperately trying to re-draw the map using in-combat sprites.  Since you are also technically outside of combat, this means you can still get back into combat, which can mean you fall down the Radar-hole of constantly "running" from fights.

We use Puar for the Radar Glitch because it's very quick to get, and restores Ki points which you should NOT be using on your characters most of the time -- you could feasibly use a Bulma card to save 1 Point in shopping, although if someone takes damage somewhere you won't be able to skip out of combat and forced to fight it out.  (Troublesome in general, but positively run-killing if you had any Glitched Cards on-hand that you needed to save for boss fights.)

CERTAIN BOSS SKIPS:	In order to skip the Fake Raditz Boss, your last fight needs to have had the outcome of "I defeated all enemies."  This sets the flag of "Fight = Done", so when you skip past the first Raditz, the game checks to see if "Fight = Done" so it can run the "Fake Raditz was beaten" dialog.  (If you have not won a fight prior to doing this, then the "Fight = Not Done" flag will still be set, and the normal dialog that precludes the fight will occur instead.)

Similarly, if you attempt to skip past the actual Raditz fight without having won the previous fight, then the game will simply reset back to his normal dialog that initiates his fight.  (Lucky for us, the Radar Skip doesn't count as running, and simply ignores the fight you were just in; thus, the last "fight" that the game will read, will still be the fight you "won", and it will carry over to THIS fight too, allowing you to skip.  So if you get into any fights after Fake Raditz, keep Radar'ing your way past them until you get to Raditz.)

An interesting example of needing to immediately move away from enemies after the Radar Glitch is following the Ginyuu x3 fight, prior to fighting Freeza (Form 3).  The 3 Ginyuu's have actual physical bodies (and, thus, triggers to start the series of fights), so the first group is killed to remove the one furthest-south; this way, when you Radar-Skip away from Freeza, you can hold Down and walk away from him.  (Failing to do this will still leave you near enough to the remaining Ginyuu's, which will re-initiate all THREE fights again, then Freeza, and uuuuuuuuuuugh.  Don't do that.  Just walk away, man.)

GLITCHED BP:	Honestly, outside of using Dende to cause a Zenkai Boost on Gohan (without the XP gain), I didn't know about this specific trick until I saw this run.  I will need more information as to how it works, since this particular glitch is accomplished (during the Saibaman Fight) at the same time you're glitching cards and duplicating them.

GLITCHED CARDS AND DUPLICATING:  Selecting either someone in the 2nd row, or -- if you have enough characters to facilitated it, the 3rd row -- from the in-combat menu.  Press A again to leave their personal menu, and return to the battle menu.  Go up to Item, and it should cause the intro dialog from the fight you just joined, as well as graphical glitches.

This can cause a few different effects, but the one we are looking for is making the first Card in your list have a glitched-out offense rating (top-left), and preferably not a Ki card (those attacks take longer, and -- as we've determined -- you don't wanna be spending Ki in fights, it could screw up your Radar'ing).

Now that you have the glitched card, select the 4th person in your character order -- so second row, first person (usually Krillin).  This can also be done with enough party members, using the first person in the 3rd row (so....the 7th person; in the speedrun, this is Gokuu during the Jiisu/Baata fight).  This person will not automatically progress onto someone else after selecting their attack, and when you cancel back through the selected attacks, it will duplicate the LAST card you selected.  Soooo....drop off all your good cards except the Glitched Card and one other, pick the Glitched Card, back up twice (now you have 2), select the garbage card, select a Glitched Card, and back up through all 5.  Now you have 5 ridiculous-powered cards.

Sometimes, however -- and for reasons I'm still trying to parse -- the game will, instead, deleted your 2nd card on the list.  Okay, probably not a big issue, since your glitched-cards are probably in the 3rd/4th/5th slots.  But you have to use the first card twice to clear it from the books, so that the Glitched card(s) are now viable candidates to get duplicated, so....just so you're aware of that fact.

SUPER-CARD:	The is the card we use for killing Ginyuu (v. Gokuu), Freeza 3, and Freeza 4.  I've tried it with different party orders, but it always seems to come back to re-ordering your group in mid-fight so it's Person 1, Person 2, AOE SPECIALIST, Person 4, Person 5, etc.



After the re-order, Person 1 picks a card, Person 2 picks a card, Person 4 picks a card, and you back up to Person 3 to pick a Preferred-Style card (for Gohan it's Piccolo's fighting style, but you can use Kami's style for the humans or even a Ki card via Krillin using his AoE).  The game will be a lil' glitchy when you select it.  Cancel back from Person 5, and our "AoE specialist" re-selects it (despite the cursor being on an invisible card), then you cancel back off of their turn entirely.  This mysterious "invisible card" should turn into the Super-Card, which can then be made into a Ki card (via Chi-Chi) and will have...different properties, depending on what it's Defensive rating is.  It has a white, glitchy look to it, you can SEE it's not normal (so Kurt Angle can't beat it, so he isn't even gonna try).

I haven't puttered around too much with what the various levels (1-8) of power the Super-Card will do, but I do remember one of them being a guaranteed Moon/Tail card, regardless of who is using it.  Sooo....ever wanted that Oozaru TenShinHan?  Well boy howdy, do I have an attack for you!  (Note -- don't do this, it's slow and useless.)

If I remember any more notes, I'll try to think of 'em.  Oh, don't fly directly to Freeza with Piccolo, the game hard-locks.  (Also, there's a reason why you use Buukujutsu to get out of the Gurudo/Recoom fight instead of the Radar, because the Radar will softlock the game.  Buukujutsu will allow you to land and walk up to Jiisu/Baata.)

KAME HOUSE

	Speed 1, Talk to Bulma, Talk to Roshi

OUTSIDE

	FLY (always Y x3, then X).  Northwest to shop.

	Buy x1 Puar, x3 Oolongs.  Leave



OUTSIDE, FLY NE to cave.



CAVE

	Run if first-to-act, otherwise Radar-skip.  

	Walk to Enma-Daiou, pick up. 

	Fight x2 Blue Saiba-jin ( do NOT use Gokuu's Ki), get Oolong Card.

	Walk to Raditz, make sure lined up to keep walking.

	Inventory should be Radar, Puar, Oolong x3, Enma, Oolong.  

	Enter (not) Raditz fight.  Radar Skip (hold up).

	Exit cave.

		NOTE -- FOR EITHER RADITZ SKIP, YOU MUST HAVE WON A 

			FIGHT PRIOR TO PERFORMING THE SKIP.

OUTSIDE

	FLY to Raditz.  Radar-skip.



				VEGITA

Gohan training, Radar Skip.

Gokuu training, try to finish as quickly as possible.  (Not hugely important, but if you need to use an Oolong, do that.)



OUTSIDE

	...hopefully Gokuu joins.  

	FLY south and pick up Krillin.  

	Fly/land/fly East/South to pick up Yamcha.  Enter/Exit the house.

	FLY South to get Ten and Chao-zu.

	Drop spare Oolongs/Puar (do NOT drop the first Puar.)

	Fly/land/FLY to the Saiya-jins.

SAIBAMAN

	Select character #4, select item (game glitches).

	Fight, select person #3, pick cards you want to get rid up.  (One card will be glitched.)

	Cancel-back on the 4th card, Select Glitched card, duplicate it until all 5.  

	Select someone *other* than #3, use Glitched Card, murder Saibaman.

SAIBAMAN x5/NAPPA

	Radar

VEGGIE

	Use Grandpa Gohan card to stun Veggie, then use the non-glitched card.

	FLY the remaining party members out to the fight. 

	Gohan uses a glitched card.



				KEWIE AND DODORIA

	(If you screw up, run from the fight you find yourself in.)

	FLY NE to Freeza's party.  Save Dende.  Run from Dodoria.

	FLY North, West, Noooooooooorth to the Namekians (talk to join.)

	Enter/Exit a building to reset the No-Fly Zone!

	FLY South, West past the mountains, Shopping!

SHOP

	Sell Piccolo, Veggie, Saichourou.

	Buy Bubbles x 6, Buukujutsu x1, Bubbles x2, Chichi.

	FLY South, West, South, Weeeeeeeeest to cave.

CAVE

	Bubbles (1)

	West (first fork), west, South, Skip Capsule, Bubbles(2), Skip Capsule, Get Capsule 

		(Goku).

	East of previous Capsule, open next Capsule (Gohan), Bubbles (3), south.  

	Skip Capsule.

	Bubbles (4), East at x4 Fork.  

	North into boulders passage, skip boulders (hide on the right side.)

	North up to Dragon Ball, leave.

OUTSIDE

	Kewie's here.  Gohan uses a Glitched Card.

	FLY North, large ruined building, Search Top-left Pot for Namekian Child.  Exit.

	FLY NW to ship, Dodoria blows it up. 

	If you still have it, Enma-Daiou on a card.  (I usually use it for Kai-ou training, but to 

	each their own.)Glitched card KO.



			GOKUU AND PICCOLO TRAIN

SHIP

	Always select x10 Gravity.

	Glitched card, Z card (from before), higher-up cards before lower cards.

	Get done in as few turns as possible.  (Want Gokuu to arrive immediately.)



KING KAIOU'S

	Piccolo tears through the training.

	Radar-skip Raditz and Nappa.



				ZARBON

OUTSIDE

	Party members leave.

	FLY West a long ways to cave.

CAVE

	Bubbles (5), north at the intersection.  Bubbles (6) next to mid-rock.

	North to wall, search hole for ShenLong, Bukujutsu (keep one next to Puar) to exit.

OUTSIDE

	FLY Northeast to shop.

	SELL Piccolo and x2 Shenlongs.

	BUY Bubbles x13, Bukujutsu x1.  Leave.



OUTSIDE

	FLY North (and east) to Cave.

CAVE

	Bubbles (7), West to the wall, North along the lil' passage between the big rock.

	Bubbles (8), continue West.  Bubbles (9) at next intersection.  West.  South to Fairy.

	Fairy opens up new path.  Go West.

	Bubbles (10), South a long ways to not-Dodoria.

NOT-DODORIA

	Re-order party to Krillin/Tenshinhan/whoever (in order).

	Open item menu and close.

	FIGHT:  Krillin -- use a card.  Ten -- use a card.  Yamcha -- use a card.  

	Gohan -- select Preferred card, cancel back from Chaozu, Select card again, cancel

	back past Gohan.  Glitched!  (From Gohan --> A A A, B, A, B B B)

	Fight with just Krillin/Ten (easy peasy).

	Chichi on Glitched card.  Continue south.

	East, Bubbles (11), North past rock, East.  Bubbles (12).  North to passage on the right.

	Exit south.

OUTSIDE

	FLY to Saichourou's (East).  

	Yappies.

	Leave, Nail leaves.  FLY back (west) to Cave.

	Walk back through, Bubbles (13) when you hit the large room.

	West through new passage (where Dodoria was).  Bubbles (14) just past his spot.

	North to the passage the Fairy created.

	East (past Fairy's former spot), Bubbles (15) on Fairy spot.

	East at fork (ignore Capsule on the left), East/South to exit.  Bubbles (16) at rock.

	Run x5.  (Glitched Card shows 3-star Defense).

	Gokuu card onto card 1-right of the Glitched card.  

	Characters, 3rd row person (A x2).

	Open Items (glitch).

	Select Krillin, Duplicate the Glitched card x3, then Gokuu'd card x2.

	FLY North/East to Freeza's ship.  (Toggle North/East until you're there.)

	Nail vs. Freeza!  EPIC SHOWDOWN. (Just kidding, Radar out.)

	More cutscenes!  Guru dies!  We only got 1 wish!  Aw maaaaaan.

	FLY north (and a lil' west) to Guru's.

FREEZA

	Grandpa Gohan on Freeza, send in Veggie.  Hopefully he refuses to fight (it's faster).

PICCOLO

	Does whatever a Piccolo does.

	FLY West (and a lil' north) to Nail.  Fus-ion-HA.  (DO NOT GO DIRECTLY TO FREEZA.)

FREEZA

	Radar% = Radar.  RIP Piccolo.

OUTSIDE

	FLY Northwest (same route as the blind-fly to Ginyuu).

	Fight the Not-Ginyuu's and Freeza.

NOT GINYUU'S

	Gokuu'ed up Golden (?) card to blow them up the first group.

	Radar-skip group #2.

	Radar-skip Group #3.

	Freeza goes level 3!  Radar anyways.  HOLD DOWN TO WALK AWAY.

OUTSIDE (technically)

	Fly south (a lil'), then start heading west.  DO NOT TURN OFF FIGHTS.

	Radar outta all fights, even Freeza.  If first-turn, then just run.  (Whatever, it's faster.)

	Get to South/East Island.

SOUTHEASTERN ISLAND

	Freeza has more dialog.  Hopefully you don't have to go far, to get to that island.

	Beat Freeza (Form 3) with a Glitched Card.

	Oh no, he's in his final form!

	Glitched-card (either Gohan or Krillin) to murder him.



			PICCOLO%

FREEZA 1 (after Nail Fusion)

	Beat him up easily, then mash through his transformation.

	1 person, 1 card (NO GLITCHED CARDS) to burn a turn so Piccolo can show up.

	When headed for the Not-Ginyuu's, feel free to visit the Namekians (north of Freeza)

	to power up Piccolo even more.  Not much, but it's fun.



			SSJ VEGGIE%

SOUTHEASTERN ISLAND

	Possibly duping a super-card?  

	Have to stall in the Freeza (form 4) fight to get Gokuu to show up.

	Send in someone (Chao-zu, Ten, Yamcha, Krillin) to die, no one else.

	Send in Gokuu by himself, he goes SSJ.

	Beatdown!  (Can take the longer fight to save a Glitched card for Veggie.)

VEGGIE'S PISSED

	He is.  Use that Glitched card!  

	If you remembered to pick one up, drop a Saichourou on Gokuu.



Notes -- Look into where you could go about picking up a Grandpa Gohan card to ensure Gokuu survives a turn of Freeza 4, so he can safely go SSJ.  (Otherwise no SSJ Veggie.)
