Hi everyone!
Twitch-Highlights will no longer be accepted for leaderboard submissions!
As many of you know, Twitch is limiting the amount of hours worth of highlights/videos you can have on your Twitch channel starting in April. If you're above 100 hours of stored highlights, Twitch will delete highlights until you're under this 100 hour limit. This sadly means Twitch is no longer a reliable website to store videos.
Thus we have come to the conclusion to ban Twitch-Highlights for leaderboard run submissions.
Current runs however that use Twitch-Highlights will be unaffected and remain on the leaderboards for now. In the meantime, we'd like to ask you to upload any runs hosted on Twitch to YouTube to preserve any runs you are worried about losing. There are many ways to export Twitch-Highlights to Youtube. Twitch has its own export feature which can be found in the video producer tab in your Twitch Dashboard. After you have exported your footage you can edit your submission on speedrun.com. DO NOT submit new runs, make sure to EDIT your current runs to make our lives easier.
It is very unfortunate Twitch has made this decision. It doesn't feel good to ban Twitch highlights and videos, however for the sake of preserving all the runs and WR history this is something we must do. This is something we could revisit in the future but for now this is what we have decided to do. Please respect our decision.
