Is stealing the ladder used to vandalise a billboard allowed? [No Theft Category]

On the way to accessing the patio that's in house number 9, there's a step ladder abandoned, which was used to vandalize a billboard which now has "WHY VOTE ANARCHY" written in red all over it.

Is selling that ladder allowed or will it be considered theft?

So from what I been told using things that are laying around to sell (eg junk) is ok to sell. You can't use the things that help you build the house eg bricks, cement, sand those sort of things. It a tricky one.

That makes the most sense, thanks!

To confirm yes you could take the ladder as its not used for a job. However whats the feelings about making it harder where nothing can be taken unless its clearly broken like broken TV's and such but anything not broken such as sofa, bed, wardrobe cannot be taken. Its a good interesting idea and I would appreciate thoughts

I mean a no thiefed run say no taking anything. So junk far game as it been dumped but anything you can buy or is new is steeling. Think the point of the two runs is making money over doing it as cheap as possible. Hate to think someone run is ruined if they sell a stolen item so might be an idea getting a list toghther of what is junk.

at first I was thinking the no theft is where stuff is used for jobs like roof, wall and patio but yeah maybe anything usable should not be permitted and only broken items IE true junk is permitted. Since nobody submitted any runs its best time to clarify that rule and well yeah I agree anything usable is theft anything broken is not

No theft should mean you have to buy every single thing, unless you cant get it. With the ladders I believe yes that would count as cheating as you can buy them from the shop. Taking the "junk" thats laying around the map should not count as stealing. BUT! taking the stuff that you can buy from the shop should count as cheating (sofa tv or that stuff).

Got it. I think it should be made clear in the rules that in the No Theft category, the only items you can take are the ones marked as "Useless junk" when pointing a cursor at them, like here:

Yes thats what we are discussing is should it be only useless junk or should it kept as I started where its used for jobs only. I am always open to suggestions for enhanced rules and or new speed runs for the game

United Kingdom

OK Well I have updated the rules of the No theft run to clarify what theft is and due to the discussion above have implemented the true no theft mode so now the rule says

You are not to steal other people supplies, in short unless it says "Useless Junk" it cannot be taken to be used or sold

Good luck to anyone who takes part in this category Thread locked as I feel fully discussed.
