Happy new year! I have some news regarding the future of the leaderboards.

We have decided to split all "Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora" leaderboards into PC and Console runs, as well as change the timing method of colsoles to RTA.

Initially, the plan was to keep all platforms in the same leaderboard, and then re-time console runs manually to get LRT. However, the game handles load screens in some weird ways, which makes manual retiming very complicated. The game has a tendency to "fade into" a load screen, and it also has tons of small load screens when the game teleports the player around (mainly around cutscenes), that do not have a load icon. There is around 100 of these small load screens in a full any% run. All of this makes it unclear when a load screen actually begins (without Livesplit pausing the timer), which makes it tremendously difficult to accurately retime console runs to LRT.

Therefore, we have decided the best solution to this dilemma, is to time console runs with RTA. Now, RTA is inherently unfair, due to potential differences in load times, but this difference should be minimal between the current-gen consoles. The choice is between having inaccurate and time consuming LRT, or a potentially slightly unfair RTA. Thus, it seems that using RTA is the lesser evil. Having a different timing method also necessitates a separate leaderboard from PC runs.

Believe me when I say that I would have preferred all categories having the same leaderboard, as I don't see a competitive reason for consoles being in a separate leaderboard. However, that is simply not feasible, while also having an accurate load remover on PC runs, which is non-negotiable.
