So i noticed with devices that are more slow or older they have slower loading times after you hit play causing an unfair advantage, so i'd like to impliment a new timing method for all categories other than highscore (for obvious reasons) instead of timing starting upon pressing play it will now start the first frame your character is visible.
Runs still do need to show themselves pressing play in either the pause or main menu for accurate retiming methods, i will start updating times imediately starting from 50m to 100m to the misc down

due to the fact there is no way to reset your progress it makes the any% category a little DIFFERENT i guess you can say. I want to make this thread to further explain the less obvious rules, there are a few links involved so i felt this post may be neccessary.

this is an example run: goal 1 at 13 seconds in, goal 2 in 28 seconds in, goal 3 in 22 seconds in, goal 4 in 23 seconds in, goal 5 in 13 seconds, goal 6 in 32 seconds in, goal 7 in 50 seconds in, goal 8 in 16 seconds in, goal 9 in 28 seconds in, goal 10 in 17 seconds in

for the past week or so i've been going ahead and updating this board, some of the changes 1.) the 2 sets of 1-10 categories for horizontal and vertical have been moved to 2 categories, 1 for horizontal and 1 for vertical, and with 10 subcategories each, 1-10 2.) a new timing method for the start of all runs, it went from when "Timer starts when you drag the first tile onto the board" to Timer starts when the first frame of the first block moving is visible" 3.) all runs have been retimed at 30 fps to reflect the new timing methods
someone wants to do a run of any% the island on official, he says it will take estimated about 30-40 hours? he wants to know if official runs if it can be allowed to pause the timer/video what does everyone think
i've recenetly had trouble retiming runs with many games i moderate due to unspecific rules, bad timing methods, etc... so i've going around to game a-b-c strengthening timing methods to make the leaderboards better. the timing methods i want to change because its unspecific, specifically the start and end which is "Timer must begin as 'Skip Instructions' is clicked" well its really hard to tell when the 'Skip Instricutions' is clicked and i think a new timing method thats better is "Timer must begin as the levels blocks become fully connected" i think thats alot better and will cause alot less confusions from times
secondly the ending "and end on completion of level 10." thats also very unspecific, i think the new rule should be "timing ends when the block character is fully invisible after completion"
a couple of other things im gonna change is for levels 1-10 only sub 2 min's are gonna have ms, 1-20 only sub 6's will have ms and 1-33 only sub 16 min's will have ms unless there's a tie
the new timing rules these rules i feel should be applied to all 3 categories to end confusion and make more accurate times

so starting now all runs are going to be retimed using 100 fps
due to different load times and inconsistant timing startings upon different categories all 4 categories will have the same timing methods for starts- full game runs timing will start upon the first move of the vehicle and end when the first frame of the level complete message in the middle of the screen is visible for first level- timing starts upon the first move of the vehicle ends when the first frame of the level complete message in the middle of the screen is visible for lose all stars- timing starts upon the first move of the vehicle ends upon the first frame of 3 black empty missing stars

what this is about is there needs to be some changes to this page and i'll explain but i need to start from the beginning I've been playing this game for a long time now, as long as i can remember my entire childhood and when i came to src i really wanted to speedrun this game, i was hoping for a large community and to have lots of fun competing for wr's etc, as shocked as i was it wasn't on this site, i figured out how to submit a game request, as happy as i was it was verified... the first one not the next or the next or the next... just one. I was quite confused on why they aloud one but not others, requests for the rest of this series on this site were made https://www.speedrun.com/hobo_1-7/thread/3xu6u but there was nothing i could do. I decided to make this board into hobo's 1-7, it worked out great the community grew and we got new runners and more people in the discord etc. yesterday i wanted this game given the multi-game tag along with the webgame tag, site staff (and im not gonna name names) but told me it was against the rules for me to do so and i needed to change it back to hobo 1, respectfully i am gonna do so. I am unsure of what we are going to do with this board and where the future of hobo speedruning is gonna go i would like to have a place for people to submit runs, me and @cinemassacres the other moderator have decided we are gonna make a google spreadsheet but i dont know how people are gonna find it without this page on src so i think we're gonna keep it
we will be copying runs and setting up a new leaderboard, any ideas, comments or anything can go in a post down below V or can be directed to me in a pm on twitch or discord or in the hobo discord :)

the last user who had moderator access too this series https://www.speedrun.com/slingseries was banned, before he was he set up a discord link to an old discord, the sling community has started a new discord and has linked it too all the games within the series, how would we replace the old discord link in the series when theres no moderator in the series ?
