I guess All DLC will be the way to go (so including any%). Tin Can Builder already required you to be level 15 so I wouldn't be surprised for it to have a level requirement too. But yeah, I am hyped too.
"You get good at loadwarps really fast" LOL, not in my case xD
I don't think the route would really change on Very Hard. We would make a mix of Theninththoughts and my route which is not by the destroyers left leg early but keep the 5mm ammo to kill stuff or buy stims/medx etc. and use robotic expert at Mass Fusion. Probably getting some extra mininukes. It might actually be fun to do a very hard or survival run :)
Yes the folder name of the version you want to play needs to be exactly "Fallout 4" (not case sensitive) and you just rename the version you don't want to play into an other name (for exemple fallout 5 or fallout4 (removing the space)). I like to have one of the 2 always in full caps so I can differentiate both versions easily
Because they have to be in the steam folder. You can keep the one on the desktop as a backup but in order to play it it needs to be in the steam folder.
You can have both version in the steam folder and rename the folders. For example 1.4 called "Fallout 4" and 1.1 called "FALLOUT 4". if you want to use the 1.4 version rename "FALLOUT 4" to something else (I call it "FALLOUT4", removed the space) so that steam will use the 1.4 version. If I want to play the 1.1 I rename "Fallout 4" to "Fallout 5" and "FALLOUT4" to "FALLOUT 4". That way, you still have both version and can switch easily. When there are new updates and you don't want to wait for a new downpatcher, just play on steam in offline mode when you rename the 1.1 version to "FALLOUT 4".
I think the best would be to make a console category like Skyrim has. Since on pc we compete with in game time which is not possible on console. You could possible retime and exclude the loading times but I guess it would be extremely long and inaccurate due to the coverslides. Also I don't think any pc player would want to do any% no loadwarp since I suppose it is mainly the same run. And anyway, pc will still have the advantage of hotkeys since on console you have to open the hotkey menu to use hotkey, which is not the case on pc.
Therefor my opinion is to make a "Any% Console" Category.
Quick little question, Is robotic expert sniping considered a glitch or is it allowed in glitchless? Since when you use robotic expert next to a robot your character input the pipboy cable into the bot. How to do it: Aim at robot, press hack. Example shown here (video is with PA, but the same is possible without PA)
The post has been edited to add the link a few days after the 1.4 update came out.
Loadwarping is a glitch that allows you to into the location of a previous save, while loading the current character. To do so, make a quicksave, load a previously made save (in this case, virgils cave). Go through a door/cave entrance with loading screen and quickload while the screen is fading into the loading screen. If done correctly, You will be in the area behind the door/cave entrance you opened, with the character from the quickload.
This is very easy in virgils cave because of a 3 seconds window but a lot harder at the end when we need to loadwarp twice in the institute and once into the railroad HQ.
I confirm that 10mm grabbed by the hilt is very consistent
I dont use OBS studio. I wanted to try that option but obs studio doesnt capture fo4. Tried using monitor capture for the fps counter, it works nicely. Thank you, didnt think of that.
Hello, one of the rules says: "- FPS must be shown on screen during the entire run (PC runs only)" I can't window capture FO4, only game capture and with game capture the FPS number from steam and from Dxtory are not showing. So to fix this I point my webcam at the lower right corner of the screen where the 2 FPS numbers are displayed but when that corner is in a bright spot, the number becomes unreadable (both images below). Is that a problem since it won't be visible when running through bright part?

Ok thx for the replies.
Jsha: what I mean with interact is the dropdown menu when hovering the cursor over an enemies. By default it is E to loot (same as interact by default) and dropdown menu E cannot be rebinded (which is annoying since I use F). And movement keys I use ZQSD which is WASD on qwerty keyboard. In the workshop menu where you build generators, the machine to go to the instute and all those other stuff, Q and Z are hardcoded to other action within that menu, disable my forward and left strafe movement. Well it's technically called a script but all it does is rebinding keys, here is the script.
#SingleInstance Force #MaxHotkeysPerInterval 99999 #IfWinActive ahk_class Fallout4 #Persistent #UseHook e::f f::e z::w w::z q::a a::q
Hello, Am I allowed to use Autohotkey to rebind hardcoded key? I have an azerty keyboard so moving forward or left is not possible because Q and Z are hardcoded for other stuff in the workshop menu. Also I hate having E being the hardcoded interact key.
Only thing I could suggest is deleting fallout.ini and falloutprefs.ini in documents/my games/fallout3 or reinstall the game if it still doesn't work. Can't help more because I've never seen this before :/
sorry
I'll try it tomorrow, if it's can work for everyone (and hopefully with ML) then I don't mind accepting this.
A guy named duuhrensohn came into my chat while I was practicing and explained me a faster strat to get the level 4 key in the ancient city:
